Lenten version of the cake (no eggs)

Required ingredients:

  • orange or lemon zest;
  • 120g white sugar;
  • hot water - 150 ml;
  • refined oil - 4 tbsp. l.;
  • vanilla sugar - one sachet is enough;
  • 0, 2 kg flour (variety is not important);
  • a handful of raisins (can be replaced with chocolate drops or berries);
  • 10g baking powder.

Detailed instructions

  1. Turn on the oven, setting the temperature to 200 degrees. While it's warming up, we'll make lean muffins.
  2. Heat (but do not boil) the above amount of water in the kettle.
  3. In a bowl with sifted flour, gradually add sugar, baking powder and vanilla. There we also add the zest of an orange (lemon) passed through a grater.
  4. In a separate bowl, combine vegetable oil with hot water. Immediately pour this mixture into a bowl containing sugar, zest and other ingredients. Mix with a tablespoon. It remains to make the final touch to the dough preparation process - add raisins, chocolate drops or fresh berries to the mass. Mix everything again. If you want to see raisins as a filling, then be sure to roll it in flour, and then put it in the dough.
  5. We take out the baking dish. You can cook one large cake in vegetable oil. To do this, you need a round or rectangular shape. We decided to bake small cupcakes. Prepared molds for ¾ of the volume are filled with dough. We put future cupcakes in a hot oven for15 minutes. Then we open the door. We check the readiness of baking with a wooden skewer. It should be stuck in the middle of the cupcake. We take out the skewer and look - if it is dry, then you can turn off the fire and remove the molds. Cupcakes are served on the table not immediately, but after 10-15 minutes. Carefully remove them from the molds, put them on a flat dish of large diameter. Baking on top can be smeared with cream or sprinkled with powdered sugar.

  • 50 gram piece of butter (margarine);
  • flour - half a glass is enough.

Practical part

  1. In a bowl, combine the melted piece of margarine with flour, cocoa powder and sugar. Stir until crumbs form, using a regular fork. So, the chocolate streusel is ready. For now, put it aside.
  2. Now we need to make kefir dough. We take deep glassware. We break eggs into it. We fall asleep with the right amount of sugar. We start whisking. Then pour in kefir, add flour and baking powder. Add another ingredient - vegetable oil. We mix. You also need to shake things up a bit. This. We introduce nuts into the resulting dough (you do not need to chop them).
  3. The sweet kefir-egg mass is carefully poured into a silicone or metal mold, the bottom of which was pre-coated with oil. Top with chocolate streusel.
  4. The form together with the contents is sent to a hot oven. At 180-200 ° C, a cake in vegetable oil and kefir will be baked for at least 40-45 minutes. During this period of time, it will increase in volume by 1.5-2 times. Such a magnificent and fragrant dessert will appeal to your household or guests.
