Each of us sometimes has such moments when ordinary sandwiches with sausage or just sausages get bored. I want something new, tasty and original … But what exactly? We bring to your attention mouth-watering and delicious buns with cheese and ham. They can be cooked even by those who are “you” with cooking. There are many cooking methods. We will consider a couple.

Puff pastry for buns

You don't have to make your own puff pastry for ham and cheese buns. In our modern world, you can buy it. But if someone has a desire to make puff pastry at home, then below we offer his recipe.

Ingredients we need:

  • cold butter - 250g;
  • flour - 240 g;
  • ice water - 130mm;
  • s alt - a small pinch.

Mix s alt, water and flour with a spoon. In no case do this with your hands, because the dough will heat up from the heat of your hands. We roll the result of mixing into a ball and cut it crosswise with a knife. Roll out the dough in the shape of a cross. We beat the butter well so that it takes the shape of an oval. After that, place it in the middle of the cruciform dough and wrap it completely. Remember that the butter must be wrapped entirely, without a single gap.

Turn the dough “face” down, and then roll it into a thin and long layer. We fold it three times. You should get 3 layers of dough, and butter between them. Then we send it to the refrigerator for 10 minutes. After the time has elapsed, repeat the same about 6 times. After completing the cooling and folding process, the finished dough can be used in baking.

Cooking puff buns with ham and cheese

The first cooking option is the simplest, consisting of basic elements.

We will need:

  • layers of purchased puff pastry;
  • ham;
  • soft cheese.

Put one layer of dough on the table. We cut the ham in the amount we need and lay it out on a layer. After that, cover the ham with slices of cheese. Gently roll the dough into a roll and cut into pieces. The approximate size of almost finished buns should be from 3 to 5 cm. Leave the result on a pre-prepared baking sheet for 15 minutes. If you wish, you can sprinkle sesame seeds or herbs on top of the buns. We heat the oven to 180 degrees and bake the buns until they are all golden brown. Your ham and cheese buns are ready!

Second cooking option

Suchbuns can be made for breakfast. And they are also convenient to pack in a container and take with you to the office as a snack.

What we need:

  • ham – 300 g;
  • egg - 1 pc.;
  • baking paper;
  • poppy or sesame - 2 tbsp. l.;
  • cheese - 300g

First of all, you need to cut the ham and cheese into eight slices. Cheese can be grated, but to save time, this is not necessary, because at the time of baking buns with cheese and ham in the oven, this ingredient will melt itself. We prepare a baking sheet by lining it with special paper. Next, take the egg, break it, beat until a light foam appears. Prepare a pastry brush in advance to coat the puffs.

Note that the dough should be at room temperature. Below we will give two ways to wrap cheese and ham buns. Whichever you prefer, use this one.

1. We take a layer of dough and roll it out to an approximate thickness of 1-2 mm. Next, divide with a knife into 4 squares. On each piece we put slices of cheese and ham. We make envelopes. See an example photo below.

2. We roll out the dough in the same way as in the first version, but in the shape of a rectangle. Cut it into 4 even rectangles. On one half we spread the cheese first, and then the ham. On the other half, we make about 3 cuts (we do not reach the edges). We close the filling with a cut layer of dough, pinch the edges with our fingers.

Spread the buns on a baking sheet and each ofBrush them with beaten egg for golden brown. Top with poppy seeds, sesame seeds or other seeds. Preheat the oven to 190 degrees, send the buns there for 20 minutes. After they are cooked, you can sprinkle greens on top. Your meal is ready!
