For 1 kilogram of berries take:

  • 1 (or slightly more) kilogram of granulated sugar;
  • a couple of juicy oranges.

Rinse and peel the berries well. Unfortunately, this can take a long time - almost every fruit has a dried tip that needs to be removed. Oranges also clean from the peel, films and seeds. After twisting the fruit in a meat grinder or chop in a blender, you should get a homogeneous mass. Pour the indicated amount of sugar into the grated gooseberries with orange, mix - the sand should completely dissolve. Then spread in sterilized jars and roll up the lids. Store as usual in a cool place until winter.

If in the previous recipe it was not necessary to boil the berry mass, now we will consider the classic method of preparing a winter supply from northern berries. Oranges, which we will use together with the peel, will give it a special aroma. You will need:

  • half a kilo of red gooseberries;
  • big orange;
  • 600 g sugar.

Wash and sort the berry, then scroll it through a meat grinder or puree it in a blender. Cut the citrus into slices, remove the seeds and the thickest films, then also chop with a blender. Combine gooseberries with orange in a saucepan, add sugar, stir and bring to a boil over low heat. As soon as the first bubbles appear on the surface, cook for another 5 minutes. Ready. Can be decomposed into banks and stored in a dark place. A few ideas: instead of the usual one, you can add a red Sicilian orange to the jam - then your workpiece will be a beautiful rich amber color. Also, when cooking, you can put some spices, especially ground cinnamon or spicy cloves. And a spoonful of lemon juice will give a pleasant sourness to your workpiece.

Prepare the berries - wash and sort. Remove the seeds from oranges and lemons; no need to cut the peel. After that, twist everything in a meat grinder, sprinkle with sugar and leave to stand for a couple of hours. Then put everything in a saucepan and cook over low heat, stirring occasionally, for an hour. The berry-fruit mass should be boiled down by about one third.
