The restaurant-bar with the unique name "Yornik" began its work in 2011. The restaurant of Yulia Vysotskaya in Moscow opened at the intersection of Brestskaya and B. Gruzinskaya streets - and this is no coincidence: this area is considered the most successful for opening gastronomic establishments. The restaurant's kitchen is run by a chef invited by Julia from London. Chef Daniel Phippard has extensive experience in English and American establishments. Chef's motto: "Cooking is simple, but creative." With the choice of the head of the restaurant, the Russian actress did not fail - he turned out to be so good that now he simultaneously heads two restaurants: the restaurant of Yulia Vysotskaya on Prospekt Mira and the restaurant on Bolshaya Gruzinskaya.
What is "Yornik"?
According to Ozhegov's interpretation, "Ernik" is the one who likes to joke, play pranks. It's kind of a rogue. It is no coincidence that the author of culinary masterpieces chose such a name for her restaurant: among the numerous friends of the actress there are a lot of such “yurniks”. And the walls of the restaurant are decorated with portraits of famous people."Yernikov": F. Bacon, W. Burroughs, V. Mayakovsky, G. Miller, E. Ionesco and others.
New restaurant by Yulia Vysotskaya
The restaurant is open daily from 12 pm to 12 am. The restaurant offers European dishes, as well as author's cuisine. The prices here are affordable: the average bill is about 1,500 rubles.
Restaurant location
The area in which the restaurant is located is considered the most successful for opening gastronomic establishments: there are many restaurants around, and very good ones. The competition here is incredible! However, the restaurant of Yulia Vysotskaya on Belorusskaya is not lost in such strong competition: people know and love this institution, many come here from the other side of the city to have a delicious meal and have a great time.
Address where the restaurant is located: st. B. Gruzinskaya, house 69 (next to the Belorusskaya metro station).
Yulia Vysotskaya's restaurant on Bolshaya Gruzinskaya Street is actually located practically on Tverskaya Street, namely behind the building where Bekhetle and the Starbucks coffee house are located.
Many people note that the restaurant has a small drawback - its sign. If a person does not initially know where the restaurant of Yulia Vysotskaya is located, then he will look for it for a very, very long time.
Restaurant design
Yulia Vysotskaya's restaurant in Moscow is decorated in an American pre-war vintage style. It is dominated by ebony and bronze framed furniture. Someone thinks that it is too gloomy here, but most come todelighted with such an idea for decorating a Moscow restaurant.
The space here is small: there is enough space for 50 people, which, it would seem, should make people sit close to each other (as they say, "elbow to elbow"). However, the tables here are so well located that there is absolutely no feeling of "crampedness".
As mentioned earlier, the creators of the restaurant decided to give their preference to the famous representatives of joking: on the walls are photographs of celebrities personally selected by Konchalovsky. Here you can see Vladimir Mayakovsky, and William Burroughs, and Jean Genet, and Anton Chekhov, and Ferdinand Selin, and many more famous yerniks.
Restaurant menu
The restaurant menu is small. There are only three sections here: appetizers, hot dishes and desserts. It was developed, of course, under the strict supervision of the owner of the restaurant, chef Daniel Phippard. Guests are surprised at such affordable prices for dishes: here you can order tuna tartare for only 510 rubles, beetroot soup - for 270 rubles, chanterelle greccotto - for 450 rubles, and dumplings on a pillow of cabbage cost only 420 rubles. Guests note the incredible taste of the coffee served.
Drinks
The restaurant serves non-alcoholic drinks only, as the restaurant does not have a license to sell alcohol. Someone mockingly says that the restaurant does not have a license for one simple reason: the owners opened the restaurant in a hurry, and they had absolutely no time to do this.kind of deeds. However, both the owners of the restaurant and its waiters react quite calmly to such comments. In addition, according to the latest data, it became known that the restaurant will acquire a license in the near future.
Food
The menu in this establishment is quite small. Actually, it's very good. This means that the restaurant has a small number of preparations, and fresh ingredients are used for cooking.
Of all the dishes of the restaurant, there are several most popular ones:
- Beet soup served with rye bread. Moreover, the serving of the dish is quite interesting: pickled cucumbers cut into neat cubes are laid out on the bottom of the plate, then beets cut into circles, a spoonful of sour cream is added on top, on which a "chip" of rye bread is fixed. When serving, this bread is topped with beetroot puree.
- Terrine made from pork and chicken, served with yogurt and sweet and sour sauce. The dish is unique: unlike the traditional aspic, there is more meat than jelly. The dish is decorated with pickled vegetables and chervil leaves.
- Smoked fish risotto served with herbs (green onions and parsley) and bottarga.
- Dessert is a combination of ginger ice cream and warm muffin, served with pistachios and watermelon and melon wedges. It should be noted that this dish "from the chef" is not on the menu - it is prepared exclusively to order.
Be sure to highlightlocal bread, which is baked here on their own, rather than running after it to a nearby store. It is made from unbleached flour, on a special leaven. The guests say that it turns out incredibly delicious.
Maintenance
The restaurant staff is surprisingly timid. The waiters are not yet used to such an invasion of visitors. However, they know their business: they carefully listen to any requests of the guests and try to fulfill them as quickly as possible. Even despite the fact that the restaurant does not have a license to sell alcoholic beverages, the waiters react quite calmly to such jokes from the guests. Some even laugh it off, offering to "send a messenger to a nearby store" for alcohol, which, the waiters promise, will not be included in the bill.
Reviews
The guests fell in love with the Yornik restaurant as much as Yulia Vysotskaya's restaurant on Prospekt Mira: reviews of both restaurants are mostly positive. Even a dim sign and a small hall of the restaurant cannot spoil the impression that guests have after visiting this institution: guests note incredibly tasty and at the same time inexpensive food, as well as a calm, magnificent atmosphere (which goes against Yulina's "bustiness"). To reiterate, guests are also celebrating the incredible coffee brewed here.
The restaurant is known and loved by many. To congratulate the Russian actress on the opening of the restaurant came suchwell-known representatives of the stage, such as Alla Pugacheva, Maxim Galkin, Kristina Orbakaite and many others.
By the way, if someone still thinks that Yulia Vysotskaya cooks food herself, as she successfully does it in front of a photo and TV camera, then he will be disappointed. All dishes are prepared without the participation of the actress: here she is the hostess. Guests note a small amount of portions, but the original serving. Yes, indeed, the chef of the Yornik restaurant follows his motto: "Cooking is simple, but creative." It is Daniel Phippard who is considered the only Englishman who decided to take a big risky step: he decided to rethink the Belarusian cuisine and remake the dishes in his own way. And he was not mistaken: the restaurant is a resounding success among Muscovites and guests of the city.
