What does a vegetarian eat? I will not exaggerate if I say that I have heard this question dozens of times in my life. Why? And because I myself am a person who does not eat meat products for food. In this regard, readers who are familiar with my other articles will rightly ask the question: “How do you know so many recipes for cooking meat dishes?” Everything is simple here: I cook for my family, and based on their feedback on the prepared dishes, I give you the characteristics of the food. But back to our topic. I do not know why you are interested in this issue, but since you are here, I will tell you about the diet of vegetarians.
Vegetable soup
I think you will have no questions about how to make a salad without meat. After cold appetizers, it is customary to serve soups to the table. Here we will go straight to them. For a 3 liter pot of soup you will need:
- Rice groats (150 grams).
- Tomatoes (2 pieces).
- Bulgarian pepper (1 piece).
- Potatoes (4 pieces).
- Onion (1 piece).
- Carrots (1 piece).
- Sour cream (2 tablespoons).
- Butter (1 tablespoon).
- Green.
- Laurel leaves.
- Sunflower oil.
- Seasonings.
First, rinse the rice, pour cold water (0.5 part) into the pan and put on medium heat. Add some s alt. 10 minutes after boiling water with cereals, pour peeled and thinly sliced potatoes into the pan. Now heat the sunflower oil in a frying pan and sauté the chopped onion for 10 seconds. Then add grated carrots. After half a minute, put finely chopped tomatoes into the pan. Fry for 90 seconds and mix the ingredients with chopped peppers. I advise you not to remove the seeds from peppercorns. With them, any dish turns out much more flavorful! After a couple of minutes, season the soup for the soup with butter and sour cream. Leave for another 2 minutes. At this time, add boiling water to the pan. We fill the soup with vegetable frying and throw in bay leaves and seasonings to taste. Let the soup simmer for another 5 minutes over low heat. Turn off the heat and put the chopped herbs into the pan. You don't need to mix. We wait 5-10 minutes and pour the hot soup into bowls!
Porridge with vegetables
Continuing to answer the question of what a vegetarian eats. For the second, we will serve porridge with vegetables. I give you an example of cooking corn porridge, but you can replace it with buckwheat, barley, and millet groats. You can use as many vegetables in this recipe as long as your dishes contain the entire dish! Put groats in a saucepan to cook (1 part groats to 3 parts water). Chop the onions and carrots and chop the tomatoes, eggplant andzucchini. Grate a cucumber. Lightly sauté the onion in a deep frying pan, then add the carrots. Lay out the rest of the vegetables. Stir and add some hot water. Simmer vegetables for 5-7 minutes over medium heat. Now pour the water with boiled cereals into the pan and let it boil. Add bay leaves and s alt to taste. After 7 minutes, pepper and add the spices that you like (for example, ginger, turmeric, zira, a mixture of dried herbs). Boil the porridge under a closed lid until tender. Corn porridge should not turn out very dry, so when boiling water, gradually add boiling water. Serve with fresh herbs.
Let's talk?
This is what a vegetarian eats. Of course, we can talk more on this topic. After all, recipes for vegetarians are very diverse and tasty. Although many meat-eaters do not think so. If you have experience eating plant-based foods, write your comments on the topic "What does a vegetarian eat."
