Kurabie cookies for many of us are associated with the Soviet past, when it was one of the most popular sweets for tea. Today, there are analogues of this very popular cookie in the past, but they do not remotely remind us of the original taste, despite the fact that the ingredients for it are not difficult to find, and the recipe is quite simple. We bring to your attention the classic way of preparing this wonderful sweet.
Kurabie cookies: ingredients
To prepare this cookie, we need 200 grams of premium wheat flour, 100 grams of shelled walnuts, a pack of vanilla, 170 grams of butter, 80 grams of sugar, one chicken egg, a quarter cup of milk, half a teaspoon of s alt and jam or jam for decoration.
Kurabie cookies: cooking process
To prepare the dough, you can use a mixer, but it is quite possible to do without it. So, grind softened butter with egg, sugar and vanilla. Mix the flour with s alt and gradually add to the butter mixture. We knead the dough well, which should turn out to be thick and plastic, but in no case steep. To make sure the consistency is right, scoop the dough into a heaped spoon and tilt it: if the excess dough falls out, then it is done correctly. If you knead too thick dough, then add a little milk to it and bring it to the desired consistency.
Using a pastry bag or a tablespoon dipped in water, spread our dough on a baking sheet pre-coated with baking paper. We decorate future cookies with nuts and send them to the oven, preheated to 190 degrees, for 12-14 minutes.
After our pastry has cooled down a bit, decorate it with jam.
So, the total cooking time for cookies is about 40 minutes. From the indicated amount of ingredients, 20 servings of the finished product weighing 25 grams are obtained.
As you can see, the cooking process is quite simple, and absolutely everyone can cook for themselves and their loved ones the favorite kurabye cookies, the calorie content of which is only 130 kilocalories per 100 grams.
This was a classic recipe for everyone's favorite cookie, but there are quite a few varieties of it: kurabye "Tajikistan", "Baku" and others. Yes, and for every experiencedthe hostess probably has her own recipe with a little trick. The differences between these varieties are minimal, so, for example, "Bakinskoe" kurabye cookies differ only in that not a whole chicken egg is used to prepare the dough, but only protein, which must be beaten with a mixer with sugar until a white foam forms. In addition, this kind of kurabye is baked a little longer at a higher temperature: 20 minutes at 240 degrees. For the filling, apple jam is used, preheated with sugar, which is added to the recesses specially made in the middle of the cookie, after it is removed from the oven and cooled a little. Also, this recipe does not use walnuts.
