In fact, it is a specially processed wheat. What is good about couscous? It practically does not require cooking. To prepare porridge, it is simply poured with boiling water. And in soups, it can be a great addition to strong broths or diet vegetables.
Delicate vegetable soup with cheese
This soup does not require meat broth. It is easy to prepare, and thanks to the cheese it has a creamy taste. To prepare soup with couscous and vegetables, you need to take:
- one carrot;
- leeks;
- two potato tubers;
- three hundred grams of broccoli;
- a couple tablespoons of couscous;
- the same amount of vegetable oil;
- 75 grams of processed cheese;
- s alt and black peppercorns to taste.
Carrots are peeled, cut into strips. Onions use onlywhite part, cut it into half rings.
Heat the oil in a heavy-bottomed pan, fry the onions and carrots in it. After pouring a liter of boiling water, s alt and add peppercorns.

- 250 grams of potatoes;
- 50 grams couscous;
- s alt and spices to taste.
Chicken legs with couscous cut into portions. Pour them with two liters of cold water and cook for about forty minutes until the meat is ready. After the broth is filtered, the meat is removed. Diced potatoes are placed in the broth, and then finely chopped onions and carrots. Cook for about ten minutes. Add couscous. Cook for two minutes, stirring. When serving, a piece of chicken is added to the couscous soup.
Tomato Soup Variant
This soup is also boiled with chicken. However, the presence of spices and tomato makes it more interesting, piquant. For couscous soup recipe use:
- 400 grams of chicken;
- 2.5 liters of water;
- one ripe tomato;
- two tuberspotatoes;
- onion head;
- a tablespoon of adjika;
- a teaspoon of ground paprika;
- a third cup of couscous;
- tablespoon of tomato paste;
- vegetable oil for frying ingredients;
- s alt and favorite spices to taste.
Also, when serving, parsley, mint or dill leaves can be used.
Couscous soup cooking process
The chicken is placed in a saucepan, poured with cold water. They put it on the stove. After boiling, foam forms on the surface, it must be removed. After thirty minutes, the meat is taken out, separated from the bones, the pulp is sent back to the broth.
Potatoes are peeled, cut into small cubes. Add to the broth, couscous is also sent there. Reduce heat and simmer for fifteen minutes.
Onions are peeled, cut finely. Heat the oil in a frying pan, fry the onion slices until golden brown. Stir while doing this.
The tomato is peeled. To do this, make an incision on it, pour boiling water. After a minute, transfer to cold water. After that, the skin will come off easily. Cut the tomato finely, add to the onion. Fry for three minutes over medium heat, stirring occasionally. After that, paprika, tomato paste and adjika are introduced, mixed again. Extinguish for another three minutes.
Add the vegetable mass to the soup, cook for ten minutes over low heat. Season with s alt to taste. After cooking, let the soup brew under the lid for another ten minutes.
Creamy Mushroom Soup
This soup with cream and mushrooms will be to your tastemany. By adding cereals, it has a different structure. To prepare mushroom soup with couscous, you need to take:
- white onion;
- two hundred grams of champignons;
- 300 ml milk;
- 200 ml 20% fat cream;
- 150 grams of cereal;
- vegetable oil.
This first dish is being prepared in a slow cooker. To begin with, the cereal is poured into a plate, poured with boiling water. The water should cover the grits by a centimeter.
Mushrooms are washed, cut into slices. Onions are peeled, cut into half rings. Odorless vegetable oil is poured into the multicooker. In the "Frying" mode, brown the onions and mushrooms for ten minutes.
After cream, milk and cereals are introduced. Select the Soup program. Bring the mass to a boil. Served hot. If desired, you can decorate the dish with mint sprigs.

- 500ml stock;
- one carrot;
- two onions;
- one hundred grams of couscous;
- a couple pinches of sugar;
- s alt and pepper to taste;
- 150 grams of s alted mushrooms;
- vegetable oil.
Vegetables are peeled, washed with cold water. Cut both ingredients finely. Fry vegetables in a small amount of oil until soft, add sugar to them, stir.
The broth is heated, brought to a boil. Enter vegetables. Cook for about tenminutes. Mushrooms are washed from brine, cut into cubes. Sent along with couscous in the broth. Stir and immediately remove from the stove.
The first dish is allowed to brew under the lid for about five minutes, after which it is poured into portioned plates. S alted mushrooms in this recipe can be added immediately to portioned plates. Then they will be brighter in taste, but the broth will be less fragrant.
