The most win-win option on any holiday table is sandwiches. The methods of their preparation, components and types are numerous and varied. There is no food you can't make a sandwich with.
In our article we will share a recipe for a sandwich with sprat and pickles. They are very easy to prepare, do not require exotic products, and at the same time are tasty and appetizing in appearance.
Products you will need
To make sandwiches we need the following products:
- "brick" of rye bread (best suited variety "Borodinsky") - 1 large or 2 small;
- canned sprats (depending on weight) - 1 or 2 cans;
- pickled cucumbers - about 4-5 pieces of medium size (or 800g jar);
- mayonnaise - 200 ml;
- bunch of parsley - medium, weighing about 50 g;
- a few garlic cloves;
- vegetable oil for fryingbread - 1 cup.
The above set of products will make approximately 20 sandwiches the size of a bread slice.
Cooking ingredients
- Start by frying the bread slices. Cut the bread into slices about 1 centimeter thick and fry in a pan, in well-heated vegetable oil, until crispy.
- The fried slices of bread are rubbed with a clove of fresh garlic lightly or abundantly, depending on how spicy you want.
- Smear bread slices grated with garlic with mayonnaise from the top side. Before doing this, determine in what order the sandwiches will be laid out on the dishes and which side is up.
- Now you can fold the slices of bread into a tower, cover and leave to soak.
- Carefully drain the oil from canned sprats and remove the back bones from the fish.
Leave small fish as is. We turn the large ones upside down.
- Cut pickled cucumbers into plastics about 5 millimeters thick, obliquely.
- From a bunch of parsley we separate the leaves and twigs of small size. Instead of parsley, you can use any herb you like. For example, dill, cilantro, basil, celery.
Shaping sandwiches
At this point, all the ingredients are ready. Let's start making sandwiches. Put 1-2 slices of pickled cucumber on a slice of bread, two small or one large fish on a cucumber, and decorate with parsley leaves (or other greens).
Sandwiches with pickled cucumber and sprat are ready. Formed sandwiches are beautifully laid out on a dish.
Options for serving sandwiches on the table
Sandwiches with pickles will be delicious both cold and hot.
- Cold. To do this, refrigerate sandwiches for about 2-3 hours.
- Hot. Microwave the sandwiches for about 1-2 minutes and place on a preheated platter to keep the sandwiches hot longer.
