The fame of the quality of French alcoholic beverages has long been spread around the world. This is not surprising, because France is a country where the number of vineyards is growing every year, and talented producers use the experience gained over hundreds of years, developing famous wine and cognac houses.
One of the brightest representatives of French spirits, which, according to many connoisseurs in the world, is considered one of the best, is Henri Munier cognac. This drink with a rich history and excellent reputation from a brilliant producer is able to win over even the most sophisticated taster.
Cognac house Henri Mounier
This French cognac got its name in honor of the captain of the French merchant fleet, one of the founders of the house. In 1858, Mounier, together with the warehouse owner Jean Salmon and the owner of the Bellet vineyards, founded the wholesale trading company Mounier & Cie. Initially, the company exported wholesale grape products to the Netherlands, quickly grew and began to supply goods to countries throughout Northern Europe.
In 1874, Mr. Mounier decided to move beyond the wholesale trade and organized the production ofown cognac for sale both in France and abroad. Cognac was sold under the brand name Henri Mounier & Co. A few years later, the name was shortened to "Henri Munier", which is known to this day.
From the very beginning, the company has established strict quality control standards at every stage of the production process: aging, distillation, blending and bottling. Largely for this reason, this brand is valued for its high quality product.
Tradition of quality
Beginner, but talented winemaker from the very beginning set a high bar for the quality of his products. Henri Munier could, on the spot, in front of the amazed employees, destroy a barrel with a product he did not like. All his time, from the day the company was founded, Mounier devoted to his favorite business - the development and improvement of different types of cognacs.
Anri cognac was made only from the best varieties of grapes grown by the company. The owner personally supervised the process of uninstallation and aging of cognac. Barrels of only two varieties of oak were used in production - Tronsay and Limousin.
A few years after the foundation of the cognac house, the high quality of this drink was known all over the world. Until now, all tasks are performed by employees with strict observance of all norms and requirements at each stage of production.
Production technology
For a hundred years, the technology of making Henri cognac has changed slightly, but the fundamental points have remained the same. The grapes are harvested by hand, the clusters are carefully sorted, only the best clusters are selected for the production of cognac: not broken, not spoiled or crushed. The squeezed juice is fermented within 3-4 weeks. The resulting young wine is distilled twice, resulting in cognac alcohol with a strength of 60-70 degrees.
Next, there is a secret process, the subtleties of which are known to few in the enterprise. Experienced winemakers dilute the alcohol and age in selected oak barrels. Cognac "Henri" is aged in barrels of exceptional quality without nails. Saving on these accessories is strictly prohibited, because the final quality of the product, its aroma and taste depend on it. Cognac is specially labeled according to aging. French cognac H Mounier is produced aged from 2 to 6 years, special brands provide for aging up to 20 years.
Taste, color and aroma
Cognac "Henri" holds a leading position in the world market largely due to the observance of its own long-term traditions, which are included in the blend of several types of cognac spirits of different ages. The bewitching golden-amber color, flavoring shades of apricot, plums and subtle aromas of grapevine, linden, flowers and almonds do not leave indifferent any connoisseur of this drink.
Harmonious and refined cognac "Henri", aged in high-quality Limousin oak barrels, is used to create cocktails and when serving gourmet dishes. In winter, cognac can be heated, it has a preventive effect againstcolds and flu. Depending on age, the drink is divided into several categories indicated on the label.
