Diyor salad is one of the most famous dishes of Uzbek cuisine. An extremely satisfying and tasty product can be used as an original snack during lunch or as an independent dish that replaces a full dinner.

Salad "Diyer" can cook any Uzbek hostess. Its recipe is extremely simple and requires minimal culinary skills. To prepare such a dish, you need the simplest products: 2 eggs, 3 potatoes, s alt, fresh cucumber, ground black pepper, 50 grams of hard cheese, vegetable oil and mayonnaise.
Making Dier salad is quite simple:

Each housewife makes the Dier salad in her own way. The recipe for its preparation, in principle, remains the same. Most often, only the method and sequence of assembling the main components changes. One of the options includes the following ingredients: 4 boiled eggs, 2 potatoes, 100 grams of cheese, vegetable oil, 2 cucumbers, herbs and mayonnaise.
Now you can start preparing the Dier salad. The recipe includes the following steps:
- At the first stage, potatoes and cucumbers must be cut into very thin strips. This requires a certain skill. Cheese and eggs are easiest to grate.
- The next step is to deep-fry the potatoes. A large amount of oil, of course, is harmful. But this will allow you to get a neat characteristic crust on the surface of the potato. Drain cooked potatoes on a paper towel to absorb excess fat.
- Separately mix cucumbers, eggs and cheese.

- Cover it with a net of mayonnaise.
- Spread ½ fried potatoes on top.
- Repeat all layers again.
Garnish the finished dish with chopped herbs. It can be dill, green onions or parsley. Here everyone should be guided by their own taste.
Chicken salad
In some Uzbek families, it is customary to cook the national salad "Dier" with chicken. It is done very simply. First, on the desktop, you need to collect all the products necessary for this: 2 eggs, 50 grams of hard cheese, 150 grams of potato pie, cucumbers and fried chicken fillet, some mayonnaise and green onions.
Salad preparation technology:
- Cut the cucumber into thin slices. To do this, you can use a special grater.
- Chop onions and eggs finely.
- Grate the cheese.
- Put potatoes on the bottom of the salad bowl.
- Spread cucumbers on top.
- Sprinkle them with cheese.
- Spread chicken fillet.
- Cover it with grated eggs. Put the yolks first, then the whites.

- Pour the structure with mayonnaise, applying it in the form of a grid.
- Repeat all layers starting with potatoes.
Some cheese can be left to finish decorating the dish. If there is no ready-made potato pie available, then you can make it yourself. To do this, you need:
- Chop the peeled tubers on a grater for Korean carrots.
- Rinse well several times with water.
- Put the food in a colander to drain all the moisture.
- Fry in a pan with plenty of boiling oil.
The straws prepared in this way will retain their crispy properties for a whole day.

Even in their homeland (in Uzbekistan), not everyone perceives Dier salad in the same way. Reviews about this dish are very contradictory. Some like its pleasant taste and original design. In addition, it is very satisfying and can quickly satisfy hunger. Others argue that such a salad is extremely harmful to the human body. This is mainly due to fried potatoes, which is its basis. There are two negative points to note here:
- Increased calorie content. For people who are overweight or tend to be overweight, such a salad is categorically contraindicated.
