Pilaf - one of the favorite dishes of all - just like many others, you can cook in a slow cooker. "Miracle Pot" will allow you to do this without any hassle. Pilaf in the Panasonic multicooker will definitely turn out tasty and fragrant, it will not burn or boil. You can go about your business while this assistant cooks dinner for you.
I want to describe the method of cooking such a dish as pilaf in the Panasonic multicooker, common among modern housewives, but I will refer to my personal preferences.
Most often it is cooked using pork, which allows it to be more fatty and viscous. But you can change the recipe at your discretion, taking a different type of meat. It is acceptable to cook pilaf from beef, lamb and even poultry. I will reveal one of my personal secrets - I like to add chicken hearts instead of meat to the dish. Pilaf with them is one of my teenage son's favorite dishes. There are recipes even with seafood. Of course, this is a departure from the classic method, but cooking in a slow cooker is also not a standard approach. howit is known that real pilaf is cooked in a special dish - a cauldron.
Ingredients
The composition of products for cooking pilaf in the Panasonic-18 multicooker is usually similar in the recipes of various housewives. First, let's prepare the necessary products. We will need:
- meat (or meat products) - 0.5 kg;
- 1 onion;
- 1 carrot;
- vegetable oil;
- rice (2 multicooker cups);
- water (4 same glasses);
- s alt, spices, garlic or bay leaf.
As spices, you can use a ready-made mixture of seasonings for pilaf, which I usually do. This is an optional condition - you can add spices at your discretion, guided by your taste preferences. As a rule, they add pepper (red, it can even be hot, in pods), cumin (aka cumin), saffron (to give a golden color to the dish), which can be replaced with more affordable turmeric, and barberry. But, I repeat, the presence of all these seasonings is not at all necessary. The products are ready, let's move on to the question of how to cook pilaf in the Panasonic multicooker.
Preparation
The meat must be cut into small pieces. If, using my personal recipe, you cook pilaf from chicken hearts or any other products that are initially small in size, then there is no need to cut them smaller. Finely chop the onion too. Grate the carrots on a coarse grater. Rice is washed. By the way, for pilaf most often use round-grainrice. Preparation for cooking such a dish as pilaf in the Panasonic multicooker is over! The processing of garlic, if you add it to the dish, is up to you. I prefer to put it on top entirely, so I don’t peel the garlic, I just free it from the husk. You can peel and put whole peeled cloves, or you can peel and then chop. Adding garlic to the dish is optional.
Cooking
The most common way to prepare a dish such as pilaf in the Panasonic multicooker is to pre-fry meat, onions and carrots in vegetable oil. To do this, you can fry the meat first, and then add the rest of the products to it, or you can immediately place all the listed ingredients in the heated oil. You can also fry in a slow cooker using the "Baking" mode. I prefer not to fry meat and vegetables at all - I put them in the multicooker bowl in the following order: meat, onions, carrots, without stirring, raw and start cooking. Prepared rice, s alt, spices, garlic and bay leaf are placed on top of the vegetables, water is poured. Further - again the approach of your choice. Most often, all the ingredients are mixed. I prefer not to mix, but leave everything in layers. By the way, in the classic recipe for cooking pilaf in a cauldron, the products are also not mixed. Next, close the lid of the multicooker and set the "Pilaf" mode. The time in this mode, the multicooker sets itself. Control of cooking is not required. This"smart saucepan" will do. All! The dish is ready! Wait for the signal. If you haven't mixed the ingredients, do it now. Leave the pilaf for a few minutes in the heating mode - and you can start eating.
