So, for 20 servings we need:
- 200 ml vegetable oil (preferably odorless);
- 200ml plain boiled water;
- 200 grams of nuts;
- 200 grams of granulated sugar;
- 450 grams of sifted wheat flour.
Nut roll recipe in action
First, pour vegetable oil and boiled water into a small saucepan, bring the mixture to a boil and set aside to cool.
Then begin to pour the wheat flour into the warm mixture and knead an elastic and smooth dough. Here you need to pay attention to the following: you may need less flour than indicated in the recipe for nut tubes: the dough should not turn out to be too tight.
For the filling, you can take any nuts, and the most delicious filler will come from a mixture of different varieties.
Peel the nuts, grind them with a rolling pin or blender to the desired degree. We send granulated sugar to the nuts. If desired, you can replace with honey. So, the filling will not crumble much, and it will be easier to wrap it in the dough.
Roll out the most thin dough (about 3 mm thick) and cut into identical rectangles in a ratio of 10:5 (cm).
Now you need to put the nut filling on the edge of the rectangle and roll the dough into a tube. Put the resulting tubes on a baking sheet: you need to lay out at a small distance from each other.
Then bake the tubes inoven for 30 minutes at 200 degrees. When serving, sprinkle the walnut rolls with powdered sugar (optional).
Honey rolls with walnuts
To prepare the dough we need:
- 4 cups of wheat flour;
- 1, 5 cups full fat sour cream;
- 200 grams of butter.
For the sweet filling:
- 2 cups walnut kernels;
- 1, 5 cups granulated sugar;
- half a cup of flower honey;
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon (cardamom can be used);
- a few egg yolks for brushing.
Cooking honey-nut dessert
Put softened butter in a bowl and beat until fluffy. Add in the process of stirring sour cream and small portions of flour (only half), knead the dough. Put the prepared dough on a table sprinkled with flour, add the rest of the flour to it, continue kneading for about 8-10 minutes until a homogeneous mass is obtained.
Meanwhile prepare the nut filling. To do this, pass the peeled walnuts through a meat grinder, add granulated sugar, crushed cinnamon (cardamom), honey and mix everything thoroughly.
The finished dough is divided into several pieces. We roll each of the pieces into a strip so that it is wider at one end.
Lubricate the surface of the dough with oil. We put the filling on the strips and roll up the tube, starting from the wide end. Put the prepared tubes on a baking sheet,greased, cover them with egg yolk and bake for about 30 minutes in a preheated oven. Sprinkle the finished rolls with powdered sugar and vanilla, if desired.
