  • two hundred grams of Beijing cabbage;
  • a couple of medium sized carrots;
  • one hundred and fifty grams of rice glass noodles;
  • one fresh cucumber;
  • roasted sesame seeds;
  • coriander;
  • s alt;
  • sugar;
  • ground black pepper;
  • pepper, ground red;
  • soy sauce;
  • one tablespoon of seven percent vinegar;
  • sesame oil;
  • vegetable or olive oil (whatever you find).

Cooking the salad

At the first stage, we need to pickle vegetables. To do this, wash the carrots, peel and finely chop. Wash the Chinese cabbage and leave to drain on a paper towel until completely dry. After that, we chop it and send it to the carrot. We do the same with the cucumber. If its peel is a little bitter, then it is better to remove it. Mix all the vegetables and pour over the marinade. We prepare the marinade separately.

While the vegetables are marinating, boil the rice noodles for fifteen minutes.

After it is ready, wash it in a colander and add to the already pickled vegetables. Pour soy sauce here and add coriander with black pepper. Sprinkle the salad with sesame seeds before serving. We mix everything well. Harbin salad is ready.

Preparation of marinade

Next, add the oil to a container with vegetables, mix them and leave to marinate for half an hour.

  • half a teaspoon of Chinese seasoning, which includes a mixture of peppers and sesame oil;
  • as much Chinese sweet and sour dark soy sauce.

First, prepare the vegetables:

  • onions are peeled and washed;
  • wash the cucumber and remove the peel from it;
  • Peking cabbage leaves are divided, washed and sent to drain on a towel;
  • wash the tomato and remove the skin, you can do it simply with a knife, or you can blanch it.

At the next stage, cut all the vegetables. We chop the cabbage into strips, the rest of the vegetables in the form in which you use them for a regular salad. Onion cut into small cubes.

Peel the egg, finely chop and add to the vegetables. We also send pre-boiled rice here. It should crumble and not stick together, otherwise, instead of a salad, you may end up with porridge.

Mix all the ingredients well and add the rest of the ingredients. If you can't find Chinese seasoning, then you can replace it with ground red pepper.

If you want to get as close as possible to the original salad recipe, then you need to add as much soy sauce as possible to it. Then the dish will have a pronounced brown color.

In our latitudes, this variation of Harbin salad is not often prepared. The recipe for cooking involves the use of daikon. You can find a root crop in the market orsupermarket or speci alty Chinese food stores. Salad with the addition of daikon will pleasantly surprise you with its taste.

We take already familiar ingredients to prepare this dish: cabbage, tomatoes, carrots, cucumber, two raw chicken eggs, butter, sesame seeds, rice noodles. To them we add one green bell pepper and one daikon the size of a cucumber. Don't forget traditional Chinese spices.

Cooking steps

  1. First of all, pour boiling water over rice noodles and prepare vegetables.
  2. All vegetables are washed, peeled and three on a grater, on which Korean carrots are usually rubbed.
  3. The same goes for peppers, even though it's not that easy to make.
  4. Chicken eggs break into a plate, shake with a fork and fry in a pan. You should get an egg pancake, which we cool and cut into strips.
  5. Mix all the ingredients and pour Chinese sauce, s alt.

In order for the salad to soak, it must be sent to the refrigerator for a couple of hours. Sprinkle with sesame seeds before serving.
