Most importantly, do not turn on a strong fire. Everything should be cooked to the minimum. When you see the first bulges on the surface, boil the berries for about 15 minutes more. Only then can you add sugar. Most importantly, do not forget to turn off the fire before this. Stir the sugar until it is completely dissolved. At the same time, try to keep the berries all intact. That's it, the jam is ready. It can be laid out in banks. You can store both in a warm and cold place.

Jam is prepared according to the standard scheme. But when you put the berries to boil, you must first knead them so that they release the juice. Otherwise, they may simply burn.

Before you put the berry on the stove, it must be prepared. Strawberries need to be cleaned of tails and sorted out. Then rinse well and place on a paper towel to drain the water. Only after that we send it to the pan.

If you are preparing silt for the winter, then the jars and lids must first be sterilized.

When the jam is ready, pour it into jars and tighten with a special key. Freshly squeezed lemon juice can be added if desired. Based on 1 kg of strawberries - one tablespoon of lemon juice. The texture of the Swedish silt jam resembles jam, as it has a jelly-like texture.

Silt - Swedish gooseberry jam

Gooseberry silt is best made with fresh berries. Unlike others, gooseberries lose their taste during freezing, although they retain vitamins. The technology for preparing gooseberry silt is no different from the standard one. If desired, currants of any color can be added to the berries. In this case, for one kilogram of berries, we will need the same kilogram of sugar.

Don't forget to peel the gooseberries from the pods and seeds. Mint can be added while making this Swedish jam. But only after you dissolve the sugar in the gooseberries.

Mint will give a touch of freshness, and the taste of silt will sparkle with new flavors.

This jam can be closed in jars, or you can eat it right away. In both cases, the taste of the dish will remain unchanged.

Orange Silt

Swedish orange silt is as easy and quick as berry jam. In addition to oranges, you can add lime or lemon. Only in this case, be prepared for the fact that sugar consumption will increase significantly.

To prepare it, we need 3 lemons, the same number of oranges. For this amount of citrus fruits, we take one kilogram of sugar. If you want a spicy silt, add a cinnamon stick to it andvanilla.

Oranges and lemons are being peeled. It is also desirable to get all the seeds from the fruits, otherwise the silt will turn out to be bitter. Cut the citrus fruits and squeeze out the juice. We put on fire for about 15 minutes. While the oranges and lemons are boiling in their own juice, you can put vanilla and cinnamon sticks to them. Before adding sugar, spice sticks will need to be removed.

At the next stage, dissolve the sugar, mix everything well and pour into prepared jars. We twist them with a key, turn them over and put them in a warm place. After the jars have cooled, put them in a place where they will be further stored.

Raspberry Silt

Swedish raspberry silt is prepared using the same technology as strawberries or oranges. The only thing that every housewife can experiment with is the ingredients. You can combine them however you like. By the way, it is not necessary to put such an amount of sugar as indicated in the recipe. Some add 300 grams of sugar per kilogram of berries and are satisfied with the taste.

After boil for another 15 minutes and turn off. ATadd 300 grams of granulated sugar to the berry and stir until the grains are completely dissolved.

Believe me, the taste will turn out great, given that the raspberry itself is not an acidic berry, then there is no need to put a lot of sugar in it. Further according to the standard: put the berry in jars, twist. And that's it, you're done.

He althy and delicious. Cherry silt

There are several nuances when brewing cherry silt.

When preparing berries, you need to squeeze out the seeds, but at the same time try to keep it whole. Cherries can release a small amount of juice, which is simply not enough to boil it in its own juice. In this case, during cooking, you will need to add a couple of tablespoons of water. For a kilogram of cherries, at least 700 grams of granulated sugar will be required. Cook cherry silt after the berry boils for at least half an hour. As soon as the sugar has melted, immediately pour the contents of the pan into jars.

By the way, another advantage of silt over our usual jam is that it can be poured into bowls and put in the freezer. In fact, you get a frozen berry, which will not only be tasty, but will also retain all its beneficial properties. Many may say, they say, why boil the berry in this case, if you can just freeze it. But the thing is that such a number does not work with cherries. Whoever froze it knows that after defrosting it is good to use it only for cooking compotes, since it loses its shape and only sour remains.smack.

So don't be afraid to experiment.

Silt from all berries

As you already understood, such a silt is prepared according to the usual technology only with the addition of various berries. The most that a hostess needs to know, if she has made such a jam at least once in her life, is that when preparing Swedish silta jam from all berries, you need to be able to combine them correctly.

For example, you should not combine cherries with currants, as a large amount of granulated sugar is needed to make such a jam, otherwise you risk getting sour. As for citrus fruits, the combination of lime and lemon can also be, to put it mildly, a losing option.

And the rest, there is no limit to your imagination.

Reviews

Of course, we are used to the standard jam recipe, and silt can alert many. But having prepared it at least once, you will no longer be able to refuse such technology. Firstly, it is much simpler than the one we are used to, and secondly, the berries retain their usual taste.

Although many Russian-speaking housewives who live in Sweden claim that silt is no different from what we are used to. But still, it's better to cook and try it once, and then draw conclusions.
