Salad is a cold or hot dish that belongs mainly to the appetizer section. But there are also categories that act as a dessert or main course. It depends on the ingredients of the dish and the time of its serving to the table. Salad is a unique delicacy, striking in its diversity and a huge range of flavors. There are more than a thousand different recipes for dishes, from fish and meat to fruit and combined. Salad names, photos and recipes can be read below.
Salad categories
All this variety can be divided into several categories that differ from each other in cooking technique, ingredients and taste. Names of salad types:
- Vegetables. The easiest to prepare. Made from vegetables and herbs.

Components:
- 100g beets;
- 350 g fresh or s alted cabbage (to taste);
- 100g red onion;
- 200g green apples;
- 70g lemon;
- 100g carrots;
- olive or vegetable oil (to taste).
Cooking process:
- Initially, you should prepare vegetables and fruits. Process beets, apples, cabbage, carrots, onions under running water and remove the peel. Remove core from peeled apples.
- Cabbage, carrots and beets finely chopped or grated.
- Dice apples and mix with lemon juice to prevent browning.
- Chop the onion finely.
- Mix all ingredients thoroughly, add herbs and spices (to taste), oil orsour cream.
Spring salad
Components:
- 100g crabmeat or sticks;
- 200 g potatoes;
- 200g fresh cabbage;
- 4 eggs;
- 50g greens (onion, parsley, cilantro);
- 100g cucumbers;
- 50 g salad onion;
- olive or vegetable oil.
Cooking process:
- Peel potatoes, treat with warm water and boil. Next, cut into small pieces.
- Peel the cabbage from the top layer, rinse, finely chop and s alt.
- Hard-boil eggs, cool, cut.
- Crab meat and cucumbers cut into small cubes.
- Chop greens and lettuce, mix with the rest of the ingredients.
- Fill salad.
Here are a few more names of vegetable salads and their main ingredients: "From beets with prunes", ingredients: boiled beets, prunes, garlic and mayonnaise. "Piquant", ingredients: carrots, prunes, beets, mayonnaise, hard cheese, raisins, garlic. Chanterelle, ingredients: Korean carrot, herbs, hard cheese, pickled cucumbers, garlic, mayonnaise.
Meat salads
Such dishes can be both an appetizer and a main course. Thanks to meat or sausages, they are very satisfying and varied. You can add any vegetables, herbs, nuts, cheeses, legumes and fruits to them.
Caprice
Components:
- canned corn - 400g;
- soft cheesevarieties - 150 g;
- boiled eggs - 5 pcs.;
- smoked sausage - 500g;
- cucumber - 1 piece;
- mayonnaise or sour cream - 100 g;
- greens, spices (to taste).
Cooking process:
- Cucumber process under running water and peel.
- Cut the sausage into thin slices.
- Chop eggs.
- Cucumber grate on a coarse grater.
- Mix corn with the rest of the ingredients, add spices, herbs (to taste), season with mayonnaise, butter or sour cream.
Marbled beef and arugula salad
Components:
- marbled beef - 500 g;
- fresh arugula - 200g;
- olive oil - 1 tbsp. l.;
- cheese (soft varieties or feta) - 80g;
- tabasco - 1 ml;
- dried cumin, red and black pepper, s alt;
- salsa sauce - 100 ml;
- balsamic vinegar - 1 tsp
Cooking process:
- Marbled beef should be cut into pieces for steak.
- Mix s alt, spices and herbs (you can use ready-made mixtures for marinating steaks). Spread the mixture over the entire surface of the meat and leave for half an hour.
- Cheese cut into thin slices.
- Mix salsa, tabasco, s alt, vinegar and pepper.
- Fry the meat on both sides until browned.
- Slice cooked steaks thinly.
- Rinse the arugula under running water, separate from the stems and place on a plate along withbeef.
- Pour the prepared sauce over the ingredients, sprinkle with grated cheese.
Meat salads are prepared not only from sausages and red meat. Chicken fillet dishes are also popular. These meats are easy to cook and pair with fruits or cheeses. The names of chicken salads and their ingredients can vary greatly. We will describe some of them. "Fruit with poultry" is prepared from the following ingredients: apple, chicken breast, canned pineapple, lettuce, honey. Another delicious salad is called "Autumn". For its preparation, the following ingredients are used: smoked chicken breast, Korean carrots, garlic, eggs, porcini mushrooms, pickled cucumbers, onions.
Fish salads
Such dishes can surprise with their taste, ease of preparation and useful properties.
Fish salad with cheese
Components:
- tuna fillet - 500 g;
- cheese - 200 g;
- lemon - 50 g;
- canned cucumbers - 2 pieces;
- red onion x 1;
- sour cream or mayonnaise (to taste);
- spices and herbs (to taste).
Cooking process:
- Tuna fillets should be steamed or baked.
- Cut the cucumbers into small cubes, chop the onion.
- Grate Cheese.
- Mix lemon juice, herbs and spices.
- Mix cucumbers and onions with seasonings and mayonnaise (sour cream), evenly distribute over the dish.
- Tuna fillet cut into small piecesslices and place on vegetables.
- Spread the cheese evenly over the entire salad.
Fruit salads
Salads from fruits and berries are useful for their nutritional value, vitamins, speed of preparation. Fruit desserts with the addition of meat, cheeses, nuts are also common.
Exotic
Components:
- canned pineapples - 200g;
- banana, apple, kiwi - 1 each;
- chicken meat - 200g;
- boiled eggs - 4 pcs.;
- soft cheese - 150g;
- sour cream - 100g
Cooking process:
- Peel the fruit and process under running water.
- The meat must be boiled, cut into small pieces.
- Cheese and apple grate or chop.
- Cut eggs and pineapples into small slices, kiwi into thin circles.
- Layer salad from the prepared ingredients: chicken breast, then eggs, cheese, bananas, apples, pineapples and kiwi. Spread each layer with sour cream.
Ingredients and their sequence may vary, depending on your imagination. Instead of chicken breast, you can use ham.
Combined salads
In combined dishes, you can give free rein to your imagination and experiment with ingredients. One of these delicacies is a salad called "Greek". It combines vegetables, cheese and herbs. But if you want to make the dish more satisfying, you can add poultry or ham.
Greek salad
Components:
- salad onion - 1 pc.;
- brynza or soft cheese - 150 g;
- cherry tomatoes - 100g;
- olives - 120 g;
- spices, herbs (to taste);
- soy sauce, balsamic vinegar olive oil - 2 tbsp. l.;
- salad (greens) - 1 piece
Cooking process:
- Peel the bell peppers, wash and peel the tomatoes, onions.
- Cheese finely grate, tomatoes cut into halves, peppers and onions into rings.
- Greek salad dressing made with wine vinegar and soy sauce, s alt and pepper.
- Mix salad ingredients together and pour over the resulting sauce.
Combined salads may include seemingly completely incompatible products. But when such ingredients are combined with each other, dishes are obtained with an unusual and multifaceted taste. Bon appetit!
