For the first time, the dish was prepared by an American chef of Italian origin, Caesar Cardini. In 1924, a company came to his restaurant with the intention of having a bite to eat. However, by that time, there was nothing left in the kitchen except white bread, from which the resourceful cook made croutons, as well as the remains of parmesan cheese, romaine lettuce leaves, lemon, olive oil, eggs and garlic with Worcester sauce.

- salmon fillet - 300 g;
- romaine lettuce (or lettuce) - 1 head;
- white bread or bun - 250g;
- Parmesan or other hard cheese - 50g;
- olive oil - 3 tbsp. spoons;
- garlic - 2 large cloves;
- 50ml freshly squeezed lemon juice;
- Worcester sauce - a couple of tablespoons (to taste);
- egg - 1 pc
Lightly s alted salmon fillet is cut into small cubes or slices. If raw fish is used, it is pre-fried in oil or seasoned with s alt and spices, cooked in a double boiler, and then cut into small pieces.
Cut off the crust from bread or buns, cut into cubes with an edge of 1 cm and, sprinkled with olive oil, dry in the oven until golden brown. The cheese is grated, the lettuce leaves are washed, dried with a napkin and torn into pieces by hand.
The egg is boiled in boiling water for one minute, then the shell is carefully removed and transferred to the bowl of a mixer or blender. Then the oil is poured, the garlic passed through the press, the juice of half a lemon and Worcester sauce (it can be replaced with soy sauce). The resulting mixture is whipped until smooth.
Put lettuce leaves on the bottom of the dish, pour over them with a small amount of filling made, put pieces of fish on the leaves, crackers on top of them, pour everything with the remaining sauce and sprinkle Caesar salad with salmon with grated cheese. When serving, the dish is decorated with olives, black olives or cherry tomato slices.
Caesar salad with smoked salmon
For Caesar salad with salmon, not only lightly s alted fish is used in the recipe. The dish will turn out just as tasty if cooked with smoked salmon. To do this, you need 150 g of smoked fish fillet, 50 g of hard cheese, 7 pcs. cherry tomatoes, a bunch of lettuce leaves, a third of a glass of olive oil, 50 ml of lemon juice, pepper and s alt, herbs de Provence.
Smoked salmon fillet is cut into small slices. Next, the lettuce leaves are washed and dried on a napkin, then they are torn into large pieces with their hands and laid out on a plate. Salmon slices, cherry tomatoes, previously cut into 4 parts, and croutons prepared according to the above recipe are placed on top. For the sauce, mix lemon juice and olive oil with s alt and black pepper and beat in a mixer, Provence herbs can also be added there. The salad is poured with sauce and served to the table, sprinkled with grated cheese.

A home-made Caesar salad with salmon will taste just like the one served in restaurants if you use:
- 300g lightly s alted salmon fillet;
- 6-7 pcs cherry tomatoes;
- 150g Parmesan type cheese;
- 150g white flour bread;
- 1 sweet pepper;
- 1 large clove of garlic;
- a third of a glass of olive oil.
Lettuce leaves are washed and poured with very cold water for 30 minutes to keep them juicy and crispy. into a bowlfold washed and halved tomatoes and chopped pulp of sweet pepper. Diced salmon fillet is also added there and mixed.
