Five years ago, the first "wine market" opened in an atmospheric Moscow bar. It was there that the best metropolitan sommeliers began to come for daily tastings, and this is how the closed club began to exist. In it, the method of blind tastings was used to select the most interesting specimens of wines, and the cavistas of the store personally vouched for each bottle. Soon, baskets and boxes with bottles appeared in the club, in which the rarest and most unique wines were stored.
In 2014, an independent restaurant "Wine Bazaar" (Komsomolsky Prospekt) appeared on the site of the market, the leaders of which selected more than three hundred copies of various champagne and wine. You can not only try drinks in the restaurant at the table, supplementing them with chichetti, assorted cheeses or author's snacks, but also buy them to go.
The idea of introducing people to wine prompted the bar management to open a second similar establishment. So, in 2016, another Wine Bazaar (Nikitsky Boulevard) was opened, the distinguishing feature of which was the interior, which creates the feeling of being in a wine box, and the Anti-confectionery section in the menu.
Komsomolskyprospectus
"Wine Bazaar", located on Komsomolsky prospect, 14/1, building 2, is a cozy little bar with great wines at affordable prices. It offers about 300 pieces of white, rose, red and sparkling wine, champagne from different manufacturers, a collection of author's snacks, a variety of cheeses, cold cuts, and the sommelier team undergoes a rigorous selection.
The store buys leftover wines and samples from trusted vendors, resulting in a huge and ever-changing selection, and wines are sold at prices well below retail.
In the warm season, this establishment, which has a lot of interesting things on its map (for example, real wines from Greece, Russia, Bulgaria), turns into a real market, noisy and crowded.
The cafe hall has a square shape, surrounded by wine racks around the perimeter. When organizing a buffet table, it can accommodate up to 55 people, during a banquet - up to 45 people.
Bar concept
"Wine Bazaar" offers its guests a menu with wine-friendly dishes, a huge selection of spirits and wines, a cozy and stylish interior. Here you can spend a holiday in the format of enogastronomic tasting or dinner, accompanied by a professional sommelier. There is also a wine casino at your service.
Nikitsky Boulevard
Wine Bazaar (Nikitsky Boulevard, 12), which opened last year, has also already managed to establish itself on the good side. Compared to the "Wine Market" onKomsomolsky Prospekt, it is a little pretentious, you won’t come here from a swoop. Those who enter a restaurant are instantly tempted to take off their coats and sit down at a table.
This establishment has over 400 wines in every category and features a menu of quirky appetizers from a professional young chef.
Institution concept
Wine Bazaar (Nikitsky Boulevard) is distinguished by the absence of a wine list and waiters, the bottles here are on racks with prices and regions indicated, and an experienced kavist helps to make a choice.
Here you can find a wide range of drinks from the Czech Republic, Israel, Bulgaria, Greece, the Old and New Worlds with good value for money. The cost for a bottle of wine starts from 700 rubles.
Chef's menu contains different sections:
- classic wine appetizers (tapas and bruschettas);
- hot (Chavacha steak, Burgundy snails, mussels in wine);
- paste;
- salads;
- soups;
- anti-confectionery.
The last section is considered the main hit, the dishes from it look like desserts, but they are not. After tasting them, each guest will experience a real cognitive dissonance: eclairs with tobiko, red fish or chicken pate, potato waffles with beetroot ice cream, salmon cheesecakes and many other treats will make any gourmet experience the real gastronomic experience.delight.
Traditionally, the institution holds master classes and wine tastings with the participation of the best sommeliers and buyers of the capital.
Impressions of cafe visitors
Judging by the reviews, "Wine Bazaar" is distinguished by an excellent wine collection, delicious cuisine and a cozy atmosphere. The institution has excellent staff, all the guys are a friendly and wonderful team that will find a professional approach to any client. This place is perfect for a romantic dinner or a friendly get-together.
Among the minuses, some guests point out only contact tables in a cafe on Komsomolsky Prospekt.
"Wine Bazaar" is one of the most popular places among wine lovers, the most famous wine critics often sit here, and rare specimens are sold literally for a penny. Every wine lover is sure to find a suitable drink here.
Establishments are open daily from 12 noon to midnight. All the necessary information can be clarified on the official website of the organization.
