You can't just buy it in a store, it is usually sold at various events, for example, in a circus, a zoo, at children's concerts, in game rooms. And in the summer, an apparatus that makes cotton candy can be found in any park where there is a swing-carousel. Incredibly, how much joy ordinary sugar can bring, turned into an airy snow-white cloud! In different countries, cotton candy has its own name. For example, in America it is cotton sweetness, in France it is grandfather's beard, in Germany it is sugar wool, in Italy it is sugar yarn, and in England it was called magic silk thread.

How is cotton candy made?

In order to make this airy delicacy, you need a special apparatus. Sugar, getting into it, is processed: first it is melted, and then it pours through a sieve in a thin stream onto a cold metal cone or drum, which constantly rotates. As a result of all these processes, thin threads similar to a cobweb are obtained from it. The operator standing behind the apparatus, with skillful hands, winds them on a stick and turns them into a large snow-white"cloud". If you add food coloring to sugar, you can get cotton wool of different colors. Advanced craftsmen who have already got used to the operation of the device can even twist various shapes from sweet threads. Many parents forbid their children to eat cotton wool, as they are afraid for the he alth of their teeth and buy ice cream instead. We will need:

• 0, 5 cups cold water;
• 1, 5 cups sugar;
• food coloring (optional);
• 1-2 drops of vinegar;
• low pot or pan;
• several forks or chopsticks (you'll need these for winding cotton candy).

Cooking:

1. First of all, prepare a place for winding cotton candy. To do this, secure the forks (Chinese chopsticks) in a standing position by supporting them with something on both sides.
2. Cooking sugar syrup. Combine sugar, water and vinegar in a saucepan and set asideslow fire. Bring to a boil, stirring constantly, and remove from heat. As soon as the syrup has cooled down a bit, put it back on the fire and bring to a boil. This cycle must be repeated 3-4 times. The syrup should acquire a golden hue, but in no case dark (this indicates that it is burnt). The output will be a thick mass that stretches well.
3. Now the fun part. We take a fork in our hands, dip it in syrup and begin to drive it around pre-installed sticks. And in this way, wind the sugar threads until the syrup runs out, or the desired amount of delicacy is reached.
