Since 1888, the wine estate of Prince Gorchakov called "Arkhaderesse" has become the "Solnechnaya Dolina" winery. It is managed by Prince-winemaker Lev Golitsyn, the founder of Russian winemaking and viticulture. Under his personal leadership, the famous plantations in the Kozskaya Valley were founded. For the plant for the production of wine "Solnechnaya Dolina" (Crimea), in addition to the grapes Kokur, Tashly, Sary-Pandas, new vines of European varieties were planted: Sersial, Riesling, Sauvignon, Muscat, Pinot Gris, Saperavi and Cabernet.

By the spring of 1893, under the leadership of Lev Golitsyn, a huge cellar was cut through in the rocky slope of Delikly-Kayafor wine maturation and storage.

By the beginning of the 20th century, the plant fell into disrepair, and the vineyards degenerated, and only by the 50s of the last century did the slow restoration of vineyards (especially autochthonous varieties) and wine production begin.

Today, the plant at the Solnechnaya Dolina state farm (Crimea) is one of the best wineries on the peninsula. And the drinks "Black Colonel" and "Black Doctor" are the hallmark of the plant.

Export Champagnes of the Peninsula

There is a Novy Svet winery on the Crimean peninsula. It is located in the village of the same name. The beginning of the work of the enterprise dates back to 1878. Aces of wine art make sparkling wines here: the dryest, semi-dry, brut and dry.

The beginning of the production of champagne in Russia was also laid by Lev Golitsyn. Having acquired a manor in the village of Novyi Svet, the prince-winemaker laid solid roads, built workshops for making wine, premises for workers and tunnels in the rocks for the maturation and storage of noble drinks. Then he began experiments on the production of sparkling wine. The result of a decade of development was the champagne "Paradise". New World and Coronation followed.

The batch of sparkling wine (60,000 bottles) produced in 1899 is considered especially successful. In France, this year's champagne received the highest international recognition - the Grand Prix.

Modern history

Sparkling wines from Novy Svet are proud of winning gold (five) and silver (ten) awards brought from international competitions.
