Try to choose tomatoes of the same color without damage, dense to the touch and as fresh as possible. Rinse thoroughly and remove, if necessary, the stalks. Rinse again with running water. At the bottom of a liter jar, place five bay leaves, five or six peppercorns, put tomatoes on top. Prepare the marinade with sugar, vinegar, s alt and water. Boil and pour over vegetables, cover jarslids, heat to sterilize and roll up.
Eggplant variant
It is not necessary to pickle tomatoes for the winter according to old recipes. You can also try new ingredients, such as eggplant. You will need a kilogram of tomatoes, the same amount of eggplant, one hundred and fifty grams of fresh parsley, one hundred grams of dill and garlic, pepper, parsley, a liter of water, a couple of tablespoons of s alt, a couple of tablespoons of sugar, a tablespoon of vinegar essence. Rinse and dry the eggplants, peel them and sprinkle with s alt. Leave for a few hours to get rid of bitterness. Wash tomatoes and greens. Peel the garlic and chop the parsley and dill. Rinse the eggplant from s alt, stuff with herbs. Put bay leaf, pepper, a couple of cloves of garlic in a three-liter jar, fill it halfway with tomatoes, then put the eggplant there. Pour s alt and sugar into cold water, pour vinegar and boil. Pour into jars, cover with lids and sterilize. Roll up jars, cover and let cool. If you pickle tomatoes for the winter in this way, you can get a very original snack.

If you decide to pickle tomatoes for the winter, you do not have to choose only ripe vegetables. You can also take green ones. In addition, you will need garlic, herbs, three liters of water, two hundred and fifty milliliters of 9% vinegar, a few tablespoons of sugar, two tablespoonss alt, bay leaf, dill grain. Wash the tomatoes, carefully cut each one and fill with garlic slices. Put dill in jars, put vegetables on them. Make a filling of s alt, sugar, bay leaf, dill seeds, vinegar and water. Pour the boiling liquid over the tomatoes and roll up the jars, turn over and leave to cool under the covers.
