Preparing food
As mentioned above, "German" salad is made from potatoes. Therefore, first of all, you should take care of the preparation of this particular product. So, different varieties of potatoes are suitable for our salad. The main ingredient is thoroughly washed under running water and boiled in uniform. During the cooking process, care should be taken that the potatoes do not fall apart. Otherwise, the appearance of the salad will not be so appetizing.
Put the boiled potatoes in cold water, then peel them. The next main ingredient that we need in the process of preparing a salad is mustard. Dijon is traditionally used, but this is unprincipled. The main thing is that the mustard is not too spicy.
Recipe 1. Classic German Salad
Despite its conciseness and simplicity, this dish will decorate any festive table.
For its preparation we need the following products:
- potatoes - 500 gr.;
- pickled cucumbers - 2 pcs.;
- red onion - 1 pc.;
- non-aromatic olive oil - 4 tbsp. l.;
- Dijon mustard (mild) - 1 tbsp. l.;
- vinegar - 2 tbsp. l.;
- pepper, s alt.
Boil potatoes in uniforms, cool, peel, cut into cubes. Coarsely chop the onion. Cucumbers cut into cubes and placed in a colander. Mix all the ingredients.

- chicken fillet - 1 pc.;
- onion (can be red variety) - 1 pc.;
- pickles (medium size) - 2 pcs.;
- lettuce leaves;
- sweet apple;
- olive oil - 1 tbsp. l.;
- vinegar - 1 tsp;
- sugar sand - 1 tsp. no slide;
- ground paprika - half a teaspoon without a slide;
- Dijon mustard (mild) - 1 tsp;
- s alt.
Place the chicken fillet in s alted boiling water and cook for 12-15 minutes. Then cool the product and cut into cubes. We thoroughly wash the apple, peel and core, cut into cubes. Peel, wash and finely chop the onion.
Now let's start preparing pickles. Pickled ones are best suited for these purposes. So, cut them into cubes and place them in a colander so that the glass is extraliquid.
Then lettuce leaves are washed and dried. We mix onions, cucumbers, chicken meat and apples in a separate container and proceed to prepare the dressing. Pour olive oil into the blender bowl, add granulated sugar, s alt, mustard and vinegar. Mix thoroughly. Dress the salad with the mixture, sprinkle with a little paprika. Let's mix again. Put lettuce leaves on the bottom of a separate container, place the mixed ingredients on top.

Boil potatoes, cool, cut into cubes. Coarsely chop the onion. Cucumbers cut into cubes. Peel the pepper and cut into strips. Mix chopped vegetables with beans.
Now let's get on with the sauce. Mix mustard with brine, oil, pepper, s alt, vinegar and garlic passed through a crush. Pour the dressing over the salad, cover the container with cling film and put in the refrigerator.
