If you recall an ordinary festive feast of the late 80s, then quite often it was monotonous, both in terms of the set of dishes and delicacies, and in terms of the assortment of the alcohol component.

It's not even worth straining your memory to remember how in those days, along with traditional "Soviet" champagne

place of honor on the table was occupied by some original foreign half-litre. And it doesn't matter what was poured there - Havana club rum, Smirnoff vodka or Amaretto sweet liqueur. Foreign means already respectable and fashionable. It was later, in the 90s, that shops and roadside stalls replenished their assortment with various Rasputins, DaniloFFs, GorbachevFFs, PetroFFs and similar FFs. And there was also the indispensable alcohol "Royal", lemon or melon "Stopka" and many other alcoholic and tasty things.

Thus, already in the early 90s, exotic fruits and vegetables, as well as outlandish alcoholic drinks, were sold steadily in Russian stores. Undoubtedly, one of these products was the alcohol "Royal" - an unusual"business" for a Russian person, because for a long time many got ordinary medical alcohol through doctors they knew or through workers of distilleries, the technological processes of which were associated with the use of ethanol.

And suddenly, shock times came in our country, when it was completely free to buy alcohol "Royal", which everyone could dilute in the proportion he needed with ordinary water and drink at his pleasure until he got bored.

With this simple method, it was easy to get up to 5 half-liters of almost 40-degree home-made vodka from one liter bottle of 96% Royal alcohol.

With the advent of such an opportunity, the fantasy of the Russian people was played with recipes for a combustible drink as best they could and knew how. Advanced "gourmets" made long-ripening berry tinctures. To do this, it was only necessary to buy the popular alcohol "Royal" and pour it into a 3-liter jar, and for color and taste add various berries: raspberries, chokeberries or red and black currants. Six months later, you could taste handmade liquor, which was much tastier than store-bought.

Birthplace of fiery water was either Belgium or Holland. There were guesses that alcohol "Royal" was made by Poland. The latter version seems very unlikely, since the Polish people themselves stocked up on this drink through Russian shuttles. At that time, the cost of alcohol "Royal" was about 40 thousand Polish zlotys. Remembering past times, when the import of alcohol became a paradise for the Russian people, modern analysts regard it as an attempt at genocide against Russia.

Now that alcohol can be seen on the open market, most still use it only for medical purposes and do not use it to make alcoholic products. However, tincture recipes are still kept at home by every Russian person.

The main thing to remember is that no matter how attracted to alcoholic beverages, the Ministry of He alth warns that drinking alcohol is harmful to he alth.
