  • 125g pearl barley;
  • sweet onion - 2 pcs.;
  • 2 medium carrots;
  • 1 red bell pepper;
  • 2-3 garlic cloves;
  • 1 small courgette or zucchini;
  • a small bunch of fresh dill and parsley;
  • a pinch of dried basil;
  • coarse s alt and black pepper;
  • 50 ml sunflower oil.

How to cook barley with meat and vegetables

Prepare grits in advance by washing and soaking them. Grind, finely chop the onion and garlic, and fry in oil. Fry until golden brown, and while the roots are golden, grate or cut the carrots into very small cubes. Add it to the frying pan. While it is fried, chop the sweet pepper and zucchini, transfer them to fry. The latest in vegetable frying are tomatoes.
