Crumble Pie is a dessert made from shortcrust pastry crumbs. It is prepared from apples, various fruits and berries. The dish cooks pretty quickly. Apple Crumble Recipe
Total cooking time will take no more than an hour, 20 minutes of which you will spend preparing the ingredients. By the time your guests arrive, you will have time to bake this simple and delicious cake. What you need:
- about 7-8 pieces apples (medium size, sour variety);
- an incomplete pack of butter (about 120 g);
- about 100-120g sugar;
- about 2 cups (maybe a little less or more) of flour;
- ground cinnamon and/or cloves;
- s alt;
- as an accompaniment - vanilla ice cream, custard or heavy cream.
Apple Crumble: Step by Step Cooking Technology
1 step
Start withapples. Wash the fruits and cut them into halves. Remove core and bones. Cut the apples into medium wedges and arrange evenly in a heatproof dish. The shape of the apples does not matter, they will not be visible in the finished pie. Sprinkle fruit on top with a spoonful of cinnamon and sugar. You can use ground cloves (this is a traditional spice in England).

Cover the form with a sheet of foil, place it in a preheated oven (temperature about 180 degrees). Set the time to 20 minutes. After half the baking time has elapsed, remove the tray and stir in the apples. Cover again with foil and place back in the oven. It takes 20-25 minutes (maybe a little more if you took more fruit) for the apples to become semi-soft. There is a special culinary variety of this fruit called Brumley. It makes excellent fillings for any pastry. If you use softer varieties of apples in the recipe, they will take less time to cook.

While the fruit is in the oven, don't waste time and take care of the sand crumbs. To prepare it, put sugar in softened (melted) butter. Those who like sugary taste can add more than indicated in the recipe. Then s alt (a pinch is enough) and add the indicated amount of flour. Mix everything with your hands until smooth. It takes 2 minutes for all the ingredients to turn into a uniform sand crumb.

After the apples in the oven reach the desired condition, remove the form andfree it from the foil. Stir the fruit again. Put the prepared sand crumb on top of the apples, carefully level it and, without covering it with foil, place the heat-resistant dish back into the oven. Estimated time is 25 minutes. Lower the temperature a little - up to 170 degrees. Crumble with apples will be ready when the shortcrust on top is beautifully browned, and apple filling syrup appears around the edges of the mold.

Remove the cake from the oven, set to cool. Apple crumble can be served and eaten either warm or cold. Traditionally in England, this dessert is served with custard (egg cream) or heavy cream. You can serve the cake with vanilla ice cream. Bon appetit!
