Products are given in small proportions. This is exactly what you need for a "pen test":

  1. Potatoes - about 7 pieces
  2. A piece of butter (1/5 pack in 200 g). You can feel free to replace with vegetable. This oil is used to lubricate the mold. If adecided to use vegetable oil, then it will be about a third of a glass.
  3. Pork loin - 25-400 gr.
  4. One huge onion. Or two medium size.
  5. Mayonnaise - do not be greedy, put a decent amount of mayonnaise to make the dish more tender. 250-400 gr. Vary this amount as you wish.
  6. Hard cheese - 250-300 gr. If you really like melted crisp, you can put cheese on your own, that is, more.
  7. Red ground pepper or the same black - to taste.
  8. S alt - at least 1-2 teaspoons. But with s alt, as usual, there is a purely individual choice. Who likes a more s alty version, and someone may not tolerate s alt in such proportions.

French cooking

Pig meat should be pre-washed and dried with paper towels. Cut with a sharp knife into plastics of such a size that when ready they are freely separated and do not pull another half of the dish along with them. 10 x 10 cm is probably the most convenient cutting size. Let the pork slices be 1 cm thick.

Next, you need to place the cut slices in a clean bag. Laying out in one plane and tying it, beat the meat through the bag. The package is needed so that the French-style meat does not scatter around the kitchen at the initial stage of cooking. Onion, previously peeled, cut into half rings. Try to cut very thinly and carefully. Now it's time to prepare the potatoes. Peel the vegetable and rinse in cold water. Connect the oven so that it has time to warm up well while you are putting the dish into the mold.

Meanwhile, remove a good size non-stick pan from the oven. Coat it with oil without sparing it. If you are using the vegetable version, then the leftovers can be poured into the bottom of the mold. There will be about 2 tbsp. spoons. Potatoes, cut into thin slices 3-4 mm. line the bottom of the mold. Lightly s alt and pepper the layer.

Now cover the potato layer with the beaten meat pieces. The meat should completely hide the potatoes. This layer should again be s alted and sprinkled with pepper. Lay the onion half rings on the meat base and close them again with potato slices. With the potato layer, perform the s alting ritual again and this time brush it well with a thick layer of mayonnaise. Place the dish laid in the form in a hot oven, in which the temperature is about 180 degrees. Set a timer for 40 minutes and you can do your own thing all this time.

Gorgeous cheese crust

Grate the whole piece of hard cheese through a grater of any fraction. Love finely grated? Rub on fine. If you want a fatter cheese crust, then grate on medium or large.

After 40 minutes, remove the mold from the hot oven and sprinkle with a generous hand of grated cheese. Now the finishing touch! Put the mold in the oven for 5-10 minutes so that the cheese becomes beautiful and very tasty. Voila! Our french fries are ready to conquer the stomachsand hearts! Bon appetit!

Additional variations in cooking

Enterprising hostesses sometimes add some additional ingredients to the classic version of the recipe. Or even replace something in the recipe. I must say that French potatoes only benefit from this. It is well known that there are as many tastes and preferences as there are people on the planet. This is how recipes with the replacement of pork with chicken meat became widespread. Everything else is done without deviating from the given canons of the recipe.

With tomatoes

Sometimes, especially during the season, tomatoes cut into plastics or slices are placed as the top final layer after potatoes. Such tomatoes are covered with a thick mayonnaise layer, sprinkled with fragrant seasonings and a lot of grated cheese is added over the layer of tomatoes. The dish is made in a pleasant sunny shade and beckons with its aroma.

Student version

Garlic is also added to French potatoes. Lovers of spicy notes in dishes even add a lot of garlic, sprinkling each layer with them when laying in a mold. Moreover, the presence of this element does not mean that there is no onion here. Onions go in addition to fragrant garlic. It happens that instead of the usual meat, cut into layers, any minced meat is used. And students in general can cook this dish with sausage or sausages. Students are resourceful and funny people. It costs them nothing to serve such "French fries" on the table.
