Required ingredients:

  • small iodized s alt - 2 tbsp. l.;
  • vinegar 6% - 2 tbsp. l.;
  • olive oil - 30-35 ml;
  • sand sugar - a little;
  • spices designed specifically for fish - as desired and tasted;
  • purified drinking water - ½ l.;
  • lavrushka sheets - 3-4 pieces

Fish processing process

Beforepickle mackerel, it must be purchased fresh or frozen. After that, the fish needs to be slightly thawed (if necessary), and then thoroughly cleaned of all the insides, fins, tail and head. Next, the processed and thoroughly washed product should be chopped into pieces-steaks no more than 2.5 cm thick and put them in a deep enameled bowl.

Marinade preparation process

It is recommended to marinate mackerel with ordinary drinking water in the amount of 0.5 liters and 2 large spoons of iodized s alt. Both of these products should be combined in one bowl and thoroughly mixed so that the loose spice completely melts. If desired, other seasonings intended for fish can be added to such a marinade.

Marination process

Ready-made s alty liquid must be poured into an enamel bowl, where pieces of mackerel were previously laid out. After that, the fish should be mixed well with your hands, adding 3-4 leaves of bay to it. It is also recommended to place a plate on top of the product, on which any load must be placed. In this position, the fish should be marinated for a day or one and a half to two days (at least).

Quickly marinated mackerel is much tastier and more fragrant if you make a special dressing for it. To do this, you need to take sweet purple onions, peel them, and then cut intothick rings and put in a ceramic container. Next, you need to mix olive oil and vinegar, adding a little sugar, iodized s alt and any seasonings to them. After that, the finished pickled fish (without liquid) must be laid out on the onion, and completely pour over it with oil dressing on top. Gently mixing the fragrant product with a spoon, you can safely serve it for dinner.

Proper serving

Marinated mackerel, the photo of which is presented above, is served chilled for dinner along with round boiled or oven-baked potatoes. Also, such a fragrant snack should be served with fresh wheat cake, greens (dill, parsley) and leek arrows.
