How to stuff a herring

- 15 grams instant gelatin;
- 150 grams of mayonnaise;
- s alt and pepper to taste.

- Herring is cleaned from the skin, spine and bones.
- Carrots and eggs are boiled, cooled and peeled. Then cut into small cubes.
- Green onions are simply finely chopped.
- Gelatin is mixed with 3-4 tablespoons of water, milk or fish broth and left to swell for 10 minutes. Then the mixture is heated until the gelatin is completely dissolved, stirring occasionally. Then gelatin and mayonnaise are mixed.
- Add carrot, egg and onion, s alt and pepper. Put in the refrigerator to thicken the filling.
- Spread herring fillets on cellophane, lay out the filling on top. Cover with a second piece of fillet.
- Wrap tightly in cling film and refrigerate until serving.
Before the feast, stuffed herring is cut into pieces and beautifully placed on a plate.
Herring roll
We need:
- one lightly s alted herring;
- one processed cheese;
- one tsp. mayonnaise;
- one st. l. sweet pickled peppers;
- 3-5 sprigs of parsley or dill;
- black pepper to taste;
- bread and mustard to serve.
Start cooking:
- The herring is cleaned of skin and bones, divided into two fillets.
- Lay the fillets overlapping on polyethylene. Cover with another piece of film and beat with a hammer, making it evenly flat.
- The film on top is removed.
- Grate processed cheese and mix it with mayonnaise.
- Place the filling on the fillet in an even layer, pepper to taste.
- The next layer is made from chopped peppers and herbs.
- Carefully wrap the herring in a tight roll.
- Then put it in the freezer for one hour.
- After cooling, cut into beautiful rings 1.5-2 centimeters thick. The dish is served on slices of bread, garnished with mustard.
