Most people still consider coffee their morning drink. Tea as an alternative is mentioned in less than 10% of cases. Perhaps that is why coffee recipes are so diverse. The drink is prepared in many different ways and can include up to a dozen sometimes quite unexpected ingredients. Each person has his own secret: someone believes that the powder should be poured with boiling water, and someone - that it should be lowered into water; there are disputes about the right time to put sugar and which spices are best combined with the aroma and peculiar taste of coffee. And with the advent of coffee brewing machines, the drink has become even more accessible for morning use: it takes less time to prepare it - you will definitely not be late for work.

Those who have had time to appreciate the advantages of a coffee machine usually prefer the brewing method called espresso. You cannot make this without a special apparatus, although there are people who believe that ground coffee poured with boiling water and settled is in no way inferior to espresso prepared in a coffee machine. However, you will not get the obligatory dense foam, and without it, this is a completely different drink.

The second most popular subspecies is Americano. It differs from espresso in a lower strength. And no wonder- this kind of drink is obtained by vulgar dilution of espresso with an additional portion of water. Again, you cannot make such coffee without a modern coffee maker.

And the third option is coffee lungo. We can say that it is somewhere in the middle between americano and espresso: it has less water than the first, but more than the second, and the same ratio is observed in terms of strength.

Long espresso

Note that lungo coffee was given to the world by all the same Italians. The name can be translated as "long", "long". The fact is that with the same initial amount of magic powder, the extraction process lasts twice as long (a minute, not 20-30 seconds). More water is taken for lungo coffee than for espresso - up to 60 ml. Due to the fact that a much larger volume of liquid passes through the ground grains, some components are extracted from them into the drink, which do not have time to go into it if you use espresso technology. As a result, lungo coffee has more bitterness and caffeine than espresso (and even more so Americano). Apart from the longer brewing time, espresso and lungo recipes are no different.

Delicious variety

Not everyone knows, but you can drink such a drink (and you should, especially in the heat!) Cold and with pleasant additions. If there is a coffee machine and you have already prepared a previously unfamiliar type of your favorite drink, make a separate foam from milk, pour your lungo into a tall beautiful glass, pour in ice (preferably crushed, but cubes are also possible),lay out the foam and sprinkle with grated chocolate. Refreshes, invigorates. And, most importantly, delicious!
