Tequila has always been considered an excellent strong alcoholic drink with an original taste and aroma. But how to choose the best product among all the variety on the supermarket shelves? Today we will introduce you to Herradura tequila - a premium drink that will not be ashamed to put on the festive table or offer as a present.
From production history
The Herradura company dates back to the 19th century. It was then that Don Jose Feliciano Romo Escobedo began looking for a place to build a factory. According to legend, after riding a considerable number of miles and stopping to rest, he noticed in the distance a brightly shining horseshoe in the rays of the sun. Feliciano considered this vision a sign from above and realized that he had found the best place to build his own ranch and tequila factory. "Erradura" is translated from Spanish as "horseshoe" - that is why the ranch, and later the produced drink, began to bear this bright and memorable name. Well, on the real side of the issue, it is not at all surprising that it was the Amatitan Valley, located in the state of Jalisco, that became the best place to build a plant fortequila production. Due to the high iron content in the soil, these lands have become an excellent environment for the growth and development of high-quality blue agave, from which Herradura tequila is produced.
Today, the drink is produced in the same place as in the nineteenth century. Only now, on the site of an old ranch, a small factory with a very simple design and uncomplicated architecture has been built. Looking at it, you can mentally travel back to the very years when don Jose himself was in charge of the production process.
About drink
Tequila "Herradura" - premium alcohol. True connoisseurs of strong drinks appreciate its taste qualities. After all, for the third hundred years it has been produced exclusively from blue agave juice without the use of cane, sugar, dyes and preservatives, in compliance with all ancient technologies and using only manual labor. A feature of this brand is the use of only blue agave juice of its own production. First, ripe cones are kept in brick ovens, after which they are sent for fermentation for 3-8 days. The difference between Herradura and other brands is a longer (longer than the Mexican standards for the production of tequila) aging distillate in oak barrels.
Bottle design
As you can see in the photo of Herradura tequila, its bottle has a rather attractive appearance. Unusual style was achieved thanks to the creationan angular vessel of a rectangular shape, which slightly narrows downwards and has a narrow elongated neck. This form is as similar as possible to the traditional Mexican glass intended for drinking tequila. And besides the attractive appearance, the bottle is very comfortable to hold, which once again confirms the success of the well-designed design. The trademark of this tequila is a metal horseshoe that adorns the front of the bottle.
Types of Herradura tequila
Today, seven varieties of this blue agave juice drink are produced. After reviewing each of them, you will easily choose the tequila that you will definitely want to try.

- "Herradura Añejo". Tequila with a bright taste of coffee and caramel, complemented by the aroma of spicy cinnamon. Intense dark amber color and aging over two years is the result of a recipe created in 1962.
- "Herradura Extra Añejo". Dark golden tequila aged in white oakbarrels for over four years. To produce this variety of tequila "Herradura" began in 1995. Delicate aroma of cinnamon and rose petals combined with vanilla-agave taste is very much loved by the fairer sex.

- "Herradura Ultra". Premium blend of two types of colorless tequila - "Anejo" and "Extra Anejo".

For the first hundred years, this tequila variety was produced only for relatives of the creator's family, and only in 1995 the first bottle of Antigua, released in honor of the company's 125th anniversary, went on sale.
