Homemade liquor

This liqueur can be prepared at home. To get two liters of alcoholic drink you will need:

  • one and a half kilograms of black currant;
  • one and a half liters of vodka or 50% alcohol;
  • no more than a kilogram of sugar.

Cooking method:

  1. The berries are thoroughly washed, sorted out, and the stalks are removed. Parts of them are crushed with a blender or with a food processor at low speed. The bones after this procedure should remain intact. Crushed berries are poured into a large jar and filled with vodka. Infuse for at least one month in a cool and dark place.
  2. After a month, the berries are squeezed with gauze. All alcoholized juice is completely filtered and driven through a cotton filter. Depending on the amount of liquid obtained, sugar is added. It usually takes about 200 grams of sugar per liter of alcoholized juice. The Crème de Cassis variant for cocktails is obtained by adding 45% sugar from the total volume of the drink.

When adding sugar, mix the juice in a blender at low speed for about 5 minutes. After its dissolution, the drink is bottled and corked. Bottles must be tightly closed. It must be remembered that natural liqueurs tend to oxidize very quickly (in about 2 months) and therefore lose their best qualities.
