Most often, housewives prepare the Squirrel salad from processed cheese. It is done very quickly, the creation has no subtleties. We can only advise you to take semi-soft cheese so that it is easier to rub it. However, if you absolutely prefer a soft product, you can pre-freeze it slightly in the freezer.

At the same time, vegetables will add brightness and catchiness to the dish.

The main ingredients indicated in the previous, basic recipe are supplemented with new ones - and a completely original taste is obtained. However, the process does not end there: a 200-gram block of hard cheese is also rubbed into the container (Russian would be quite appropriate) and the same piece of frozen butter. Next, squeezed garlic (approximately six cloves) and a spoonful of chopped nuts are introduced into the Squirrel salad. The easiest way is to add walnuts, but it will be tastier with forest or cedar. After mixing, the dish is usually seasoned with mayonnaise.

Carrot variant

In this recipe, the Squirrel salad lives up to its name because it has a red coat. Two carrots of medium size and bright color are peeled and rubbed coarsely. A couple of processed cheeses are crushed in a similar way. Two or three garlic cloves are passed through the press. All components are mixed and flavored with mayonnaise. For this version of the salad, it is better to take a fatter mayonnaise so that it nourishes the root vegetables, and before serving, the dish should be kept in the refrigerator for half an hour.

The brine is drained from a 400-gram jar of pickled champignons; if the mushrooms are small, they can be sent to the salad whole, if they are large, chop them. The average onion is finely chopped and gilded in vegetable oil. Nuts are crushed, but into dust, so that their taste is clearly felt in the dish. All prepared components are combined; again, mayonnaise is used as a dressing.

This salad is prepared by many mothers for children's holidays. It is performed in the form of the corresponding animal, it turns out colorful, juicy, and is eaten by the offspring in the first place. Cooking goes in this order.
