There are not so many good Georgian restaurants in the Russian capital. Even fewer of those where the rest will be full and enjoyable, regardless of the cuisine. "Prisoner of the Caucasus" is a restaurant that many people can fall in love with from the first visit.

The institution started its work in 1998. Since then, it has been considered one of the best restaurants in the capital, where the emphasis is on homemade and traditional Georgian dishes. Despite the fact that there are many Georgian restaurants in the capital, the Kavkazskaya Prisoner compares favorably with the rest. All dishes are prepared according to traditional recipes. In addition to the extensive menu, the bar menu is no less extensive. There are no drinks here! These are amazing white and red wines, and strong alcohol (vodka, cognac, whiskey, brandy and others), and even calvados (traditional apple brandy, prepared according to a special recipe). Here you can find any drink that you like. There are plenty of non-alcoholic drinks too. An extensive tea card allows you to choose the tea that you like. And it's not a bagged drink! This is real tea, which is brewed in teapots of different sizes.

Interior

It is impossible to say that the institution belongs to any one style. No, it has its own atmosphere, created based on the famous film of the same name by the legendary director Leonid Gaidai. “Prisoner of the Caucasus” is a restaurant (Prospect Mira, building 36, building 1), which recreates scenes from the painting of the same name within its walls. The restaurant has 4 halls (150 seats in total). It is noteworthy that each of them is the embodiment of somethingunusual. The music hall is a place where you can listen to live music and dance. It is he who is chosen for banquets or celebrations. It is also interesting that, in general, the restaurant is the scenery of an immortal comedy: there is Comrade Saakhov's office, a wine cellar, and even a real Caucasian courtyard where live chickens walk in the warm season. For those who have a remote understanding of the film, the employees of the institution will gladly talk about why the place is themed and what exactly it is connected with.

Summer terrace

In addition to the halls, the establishment also has a separate summer terrace with a capacity of up to 120 people. It is worth talking about a woman who has been a chef for many years. Olga Guliyeva is from the city of Sukhum, which she was forced to leave in 1993. Arkady Novikov had long ago recruited this talented woman as a chef at several of his restaurants before placing her as head chef at The Prisoner of the Caucasus. It is always better to see once for yourself than to hear 10 times from others. Someone becomes a regular guest, and someone permanently deletes it from their list of places to visit.
