Corn baked in the oven is a delicious and easy-to-cook dish. In the article, we will consider several recipes, and also tell you how to properly prepare this cereal for baking.
Preparation
Regardless of the method of preparation, whether it is corn, baked in the oven or boiled, the cereal must be chosen correctly. At the time of purchase, make sure that the grains are translucent and juicy, and the shell is bright green. Shriveled and dry fruits are of no interest to us.
Before baking, remove the fibers and shell, then rinse the cobs. Next, the corn falls into boiling water for 5-10 minutes. If you are sure that you got young and absolutely fresh fruits, then you can do without pre-boiling.
To bake cereal, you need foil. You can use corn leaves instead. Two cobs can be placed in one piece of foil.

Easy recipe
How is corn cooked in the oven? The recipe depends on what result you want to get. Herethe easiest way:
- Cut prepared corn in half or into several pieces - depending on the size of the cob. You can simply cut the fruit, and then break it with your hands.
- If using foil, then pre-prepare a few pieces about 20 by 30 centimeters in size. In the center of each of them, place a piece of butter at the rate of about 1 tablespoon per 1 cob. Wrap the corn in foil.
- If you use your own corn leaves instead of foil, then wrap the peeled cobs with leaves, and tie the fruits with one of the leaves or a string.
- Place the corn on a baking sheet and send it to the oven preheated to 200 degrees.
How long the corn will bake in foil in the oven depends on whether you boiled the cobs of it before or not. On average, it takes 15-30 minutes. Readiness of cereal can be determined by soft grains.
Taste preference also matters, as the cobs may brown where the corn touches the pan. This is normal, so if you like well-done grains, then you need more time.
Instead of butter, you can take olive oil, as well as sour cream, mayonnaise, ketchup, mustard.
Cheese and garlic casserole
Oven baked corn in foil, the recipe of which we will now present, will require a little more time, but the result is worth it.
For three cobs you will need 2 tbsp. tablespoons butter, 1 tbsp. the spoongrated Parmesan, 1 teaspoon of granulated (or chopped fresh) garlic and s alt. You can take any spices and in the amount that suits your taste.
- Brush each cob with butter, s alt on all sides, sprinkle with spices and granulated garlic.
- Wrap each cob in foil.
- Bake in the oven for 30-60 minutes.
- Sprinkle the cooked corn with grated parmesan and serve.
From spices you can use black and allspice, paprika, coriander, basil, thyme, rosemary. S alt is preferably coarse.
Corn and bacon
For 4 ears prepare 8 slices of bacon, 120 grams of s alted butter, a small bunch of fresh cilantro, 1 lime, s alt and pepper to taste.
- Lime cut into 4 parts. Remove the zest from one of them with a fine grater.
- Chop the greens finely.
- Mix lime zest, herbs and oil in a bowl. Grind everything with a spoon.
- Grate each ear with the juice of one lime wedge. All grains should be soaked in it.
- Rub the prepared mixture of herbs, oil and zest into the cobs. Sprinkle with s alt and pepper.
- Spiral wrap each fruit with 2 slices of bacon.
- Wrap each cob in a double layer of foil and place on a baking sheet.
- Bake 40-50 minutes.
Baked corn with sour cream and honey
As you can see, if there are boring dishes, then this is definitely not bakedcorn in the oven in foil. The recipe can always be varied with a minimum of effort. For example, give the grains a unique aroma and taste with sour cream sauce.
For 4-5 ears, prepare a couple of tablespoons of sour cream, 1 or 2 teaspoons of mustard, a tablespoon of honey. S alt to taste.
- Grate prepared ears with s alt, wrap tightly in foil and put in the oven for 20-30 minutes.
- Stir the s alt, honey and mustard well in a bowl.
- Before serving, top the baked corn with sour cream sauce.
Corn in batter
Depending on the cooking methods and the sauces used, oven baked corn could very well turn into a holiday dish. For example, if you bake cereal in batter. In this case, even the foil is not needed, but the corn must first be boiled.
For 5 cobs, cook 3 chicken eggs, a third of a glass of milk, 3 tbsp. spoons of sunflower oil, 2/3 cup flour. S alt to taste.
- Separate the whites from the yolks and rub the latter with butter.
- Add milk and s alt to the yolk-butter mixture. Stir.
- Add the sifted flour and stir again.
- Beat the whites and pour them into the batter.
- Dip cooked corncobs in batter and place on a baking sheet.
- Preheat the oven to 170 degrees and bake the corn for half an hour.
