One of the most popular and inexpensive varieties of fish is herring. It makes delicious dishes that are served even on the festive table. For example, “herring under a fur coat” is a trivial salad for all occasions, but today we will not talk about this dish. We will prepare he althy herring oil from this fish using inexpensive ingredients. This is a great alternative to store-bought pâtés, free of harmful dyes and GMOs.
Delicate herring butter with cheese and apple
Ingredients:
-Two slightly s alted herring.
-Soft or processed cheese 100 g.
-Boiled carrots.
-Two hard-boiled eggs.
-Sweet and sour apple.
-150g softened butter.
-Onion.
-Bulgarian pepper.
-Beet juice 20g for color.
Cooking herring: wash the fish in cold water, remove the skin and bones. Cut all fillets into small pieces.
Boiled and chilled eggs and carrots finely chopped, do the same with apples and onions. We send all the ingredients together with the herring fillet to a blender or meat grinder andbeat well.
In a separate bowl, mix cheese with butter. To the resulting creamy cheese mass, add chopped sweet pepper, herring oil and a few tablespoons of beetroot juice. Everything needs to be thoroughly beaten.
The finished mass should be well cooled in the refrigerator before serving - an hour will be enough. Such a simple appetizer will please the whole family with its delicate taste. Herring oil can be added to mashed potatoes or spread on crispy toast.
There is a simpler and more classic recipe for this appetizer. This will require herring fillet, spices (pepper, s alt) and butter 100 grams. We cut the fish in the same way, chop and mix with the listed components. Leave in the cold for 40 minutes and consume. Everything is tritely simple and extremely tasty!
In fact, herring oil can be prepared in many variations and with the addition of various products - it all depends on your preferences and imagination. Prepare, for example, an original herring pate (butter) with an unusual combination of ingredients:
-one herring;
-s alted gherkins (100 g);
-soft cheese (100g);
-boiled potatoes (100 g);
-vegetable oil;
-herbs and spices;
-food wrap.
Too s alted fish should be kept in milk for half an hour, and then disassembled from bones and skin. Next, you need to beat the fillet in a blender, add boiled potatoes, cucumbers, cheese and a littlevegetable/olive oil. Put finely chopped greens (dill, cilantro) and black pepper into a thick mass. You can use other seasonings and herbs at your discretion.
We take a cling film, put our workpiece on it and carefully roll it into a roll. Everything, now it remains only to cool. Believe me, this herring roll deserves the highest ratings - this is a real delicacy that is eaten in a couple of minutes. If desired, herring caviar can be left as is and used as butter, pate or caviar - as you like. In any interpretation, it turns out amazingly.
