Ale is an excellent refreshing drink that can be prepared in several variations. In our publication, I would like to consider recipes for making a product based on ginger. Useful properties of the drink
Ginger ale is claimed to have many medicinal qualities. It is believed that the drink has not only an excellent tonic effect on the body, but also has some healing properties. In particular, the product is recommended for use in order to prevent colds. The drink has a warming effect. Therefore, drinking it makes it possible to recover after hypothermia within seconds.
Ginger ale, the recipes for which will be discussed below, is rich in vitamins A, C and B, as well as minerals andessential micronutrients. The use of the product contributes to the replenishment of magnesium, iodine, potassium, zinc and iron in the body.
However, ginger ale may not be beneficial for everyone. Drinking a drink is absolutely not recommended for people who suffer from problems with jumps in blood pressure. The same applies to people who have a weak heart, and are also at the stage of treatment for hepatitis, cirrhosis of the liver.
Classic recipe
How to make traditional ginger ale at home? The recipe calls for the following ingredients:
- Large ginger root.
- Sugar - 200g
- Water - 300 ml.
- Dry Yeast - 5g
- A few medium sized lemons.
Prepare ginger ale according to the classic recipe as follows. Ginger root is thoroughly cleaned, and then crushed using a fine grater. Raw materials are placed in boiled water and sugar is added. The composition is mixed, and then lemon juice is squeezed here.
The mixture is cooled to room temperature. Dry yeast is dissolved in the liquid. The resulting drink is poured into plastic bottles. The container is tightly corked with stoppers. Containers with ale are sent for maturation in a dark place where the temperature is maintained in the range of 18 to 25 oС. Here the bottles are left for several days.
As soon as the plastic container is filled with gases and becomes solid, it is transferred to the refrigerator. El insist for another 3-5 days. Then liquidcarefully filtered using cheesecloth. The result is a delicious, tonic, low-alcohol drink that will remain usable for up to 10 days.
Ginger ale non-alcoholic
To prepare a non-alcoholic variation of the drink you will need:
- Ginger root.
- Sugar - 4 tablespoons.
- Soda - 3 l.
- Lemon - 3 pieces.
- Mint leaves.
Ginger root is removed from the skin and chopped on a fine grater. The resulting mass is combined with sugar and mixed thoroughly. Lemons are peeled. Citrus zest is finely ground and added to the above composition. The mixture is poured with soda.
The resulting drink is infused for 10-15 minutes. The liquid is carefully filtered. Then non-alcoholic ale is poured into glasses, where mint leaves are placed to taste.
Ginger ale with honey
To prepare a drink in this way, take a small ginger, a liter of sparkling water, one lemon and a tablespoon of honey. Finely grated root is mixed with citrus, cut into small slices. Honey is added here and the resulting mass is thoroughly mixed. The resulting base is insisted for a quarter of an hour. The mixture is poured with mineral water. The container with the composition is tightly covered with a lid and put in the refrigerator. Here the drink is infused for several hours. The liquid is filtered, after which the ale is ready to drink.
Ginger ale with raisins
The drink is prepared using the following ingredients:
- Large ginger root.
- Water - about 4 liters.
- Lemons - 3 pieces
- Sugar - 0.5 kg.
- Raisins - half a glass.
Immediately it should be noted that in order to create a drink in this variation, you will have to be patient. Since the process of making such ale is quite laborious and lengthy. So, how is the drink prepared? Washed raisins are placed in a clean container. Add sugar in an amount of not more than 2 teaspoons. Then use a spoonful of grated ginger, crushed pulp of one lemon and about one and a half glasses of water.
The container with the composition is covered with gauze and sent to a warm place where the drink will be fermented. Ale is left to mature for up to 3 days. The mixture is fed periodically with several ingredients. A couple of teaspoons of sugar and a similar amount of crushed ginger are added daily to the liquid.
After a week and a half, syrup is prepared. To do this, use half a liter of boiled water, in which the remaining sugar is dissolved. The liquid is heated over low heat for 5-10 minutes. Two lemons are taken, from which the juice is squeezed into the resulting syrup. The mixture is stirred, allowed to cool to room temperature and the rest of the water is added. The syrup is combined with a fermented drink, after which it is bottled. Ale insist in the refrigerator for 2-3 days.
