- a bottle of dry wine (preferably red);
- 100 g honey;
- 7-8 carnation florets;
- ¼ teaspoon cinnamon;
- 1 tsp fresh ginger (can be replaced with dried);
- 200 g of any jam;
- 0.5 tsp nutmeg;
- mint (for decoration).
Cooking
This drink is quite sweet. If you want moderately sweet sbiten, then you can add a little less jam. It is advisable to take it from blackcurrant. This will give the drink a special taste. But if this is not the case, then take your favorite jam. Then do the following:
- Pour the wine into a heavy-bottomed pot and heat it up. Thenfinely grate the ginger.
- After the wine starts to boil, add all the other ingredients. After boiling, reduce the heat and boil the sbiten for several minutes.
- Strain the hot drink. To smooth out the cloying and sweetness a little, you can dilute it with boiling water. Top with mint leaves. But do this only if you wish.
Sbiten alcoholic with liquor
This recipe has an unusual taste, and all thanks to the addition of liqueur to the drink. It turns out not too strong, and the honey flavor will smooth out all the bitter notes. To prepare sbitnya, take the following products:
- 150g honey;
- 0.5L of water;
- carnation;
- allspice;
- ginger;
- 200g liqueur;
- mint, thyme, linden blossoms.
