Before you brew high-quality moonshine, you need to carefully prepare the raw materials for distillation. The result will depend entirely on the quality of raw materials.

Taste of mash, aroma, color, presence of impurities and, of course, the residual effect - a hangover. At the heart of moonshine, first of all, is ethyl alcohol, which is formed after the breakdown of simple carbohydrates (sucrose, fructose, glucose). The splitting process and formula is very complex. There is no need to describe all this, since it is much easier to make mash. Let's consider the main points. The preparation of home brew as a raw material for home brewing, and its use as a separate drink, provides for the presence of sugar as an absolute source of carbohydrates or a variety of juices and other plant components that contain fructose. The most effective way is to add these components to the mash as juice or puree. This will greatly speed up the process of moving all the sugars into your solution.

The most common recipe for making mash.

To start, take 1 kg of yeast and 7 kg of granulated sugar. Pour 24 liters of filtered water into this mixture (it is recommended not to use tap water, because itcontains disinfecting impurities that adversely affect yeast).

All ingredients are thoroughly mixed in a large container (a container with a lid should be used), and it is placed on a heat source. Once every two days (or less often), you should open the lid and mix the contents well so that the mash gets rid of carbon dioxide faster. The lid itself is used as an object to prevent oxygen from entering the mash, since as a result of oxygen fermentation, molds and many other fellow travelers that can kill the product develop. If the container is not covered with a lid (for example, to carry out fermentation in a glass jar), it is necessary to stop the access of oxygen in some other way (put on a glove or a condom). The fermentation process takes place until the moment when gas bubbles cease to form, because the taste of the mash will cease to be sweet. You need to carefully calculate the amount of working solution and pour a large amount of water to dissolve the ethyl alcohol you have chosen. By saturating the medium with ethanol, the yeast create bad conditions for themselves. After saturation of the medium with alcohol by more than 10%, all bacteria begin to die. To date, there are such varieties of yeast that can withstand up to 15% alcohol in solution, but this is no longer our case. An excellent substitute for sugar, if needed, would be apple juice.

How to make mash with other plant ingredients instead of sugar.

For cooking we need:

- 1kg yeast;

- 10 liters of apple juice, preferably sweet varieties of apples;

- 10 liters of filtered water.

Don't be upset if you don't find granulated sugar or apple juice at home. During the preparation of the mash, you can also use other herbal ingredients. For example: potatoes, sugar beets, cereals and other sources that have carbohydrates. Based on the foregoing, the question is: "How to make mash?" - will be completely closed.
