It's hard to imagine a modern bar that would not offer a cocktail like Pinot Colada. This is a delicious drink containing pineapple and coconut, which can be either alcoholic (in this case, rum is one of the ingredients) or non-alcoholic. Let's take a closer look at how to cook it at home.

Cocktail "Pina Colada" (composition): three hundred grams of ice in pieces (cubes), juice from a quarter lime, two hundred grams of pineapple juice, three tablespoons of coconut milk, three tablespoons of sugar syrup, forty grams of light and twenty grams of dark rum, cocktail cherry and a piece of pineapple for decoration.

Glasses for this drink should be four hundred milliliters and have a curved shape, you will also need a straw and a shaker.

First, one hundred grams of ice is poured into the shaker and only then the rest of the ingredients are added, the lid is closed and they begin to shake vigorously to not only mix all the ingredients, but also beat them a little (the coconut will give a white foam). Then you need a drinktaste and add more rum, lime juice or sugar syrup to taste, pour into glasses pre-filled with pieces of ice.

It must be said that coconut milk for the preparation of the Pinot Colada cocktail is sometimes replaced with coconut syrup, which can be purchased at almost any supermarket. Usually the syrup already contains sugar, so adding it to the drink no longer makes sense. However, you will need slightly more coconut syrup than coconut milk.

Sugar is recommended to be diluted with water before adding to the cocktail, while you can use any of it: white, brown or a mixture of both, it all depends on taste preferences.

Pineapple juice must be used fresh, freshly squeezed. But if this is not possible, you can pick up natural juice from the package or mix it with pineapple puree. In the latter case, "Pino Colada" will be somewhat thicker and more aromatic.

Rum for the cocktail is added to taste, and lime juice can be omitted, although it gives a unique coniferous smell. In any case, it all depends on the pineapple juice and the sweetness of the drink. Therefore, lime (in some cases lemon) is often added at the very end, when the cocktail has been tasted for sweetness.

Pino Colada, whose composition we already know, is garnished with a peeled pineapple slice and a cocktail cherry. Many bars put whipped cream on top of the glass.

The most beautifula drink made in pineapple or coconut is considered. So, juice is drained from the latter, mixed with all the ingredients and poured back. And pouring a drink into a pineapple is somewhat more difficult, since you need to manually pick out the pulp.

"Pino Colada" is considered the official cocktail of Puerto Rico and is very popular among the female population. Its origin is still debated to this day. Some claim that it originated in one of the country's restaurants, others say that it came from the Caribbean. But be that as it may, the great taste of Pinot Colada is known almost all over the world.
