Donuts are a classic American pastry. Recipes for making dough and fillings can be completely different: with jam, chocolate, nuts, cream, raisins and other dried fruits. Which one you choose depends on your tastes. Now I suggest you cook original, tender, light cottage cheese donuts.

They are made quite simply and quickly, but they have a unique taste and will surprise all your loved ones. You can deep-fry them, or if you have a special silicone donut mold, you can bake them in the oven.

For cooking we need:

  • half a kilo of medium-fat cottage cheese;
  • four eggs;
  • half a cup of sugar;
  • about one large spoonful of sour cream;
  • two or three teaspoons of soda without a slide;
  • vinegar;
  • half a bag of baking powder (confectionery powder);
  • two large spoons of vanilla sugar or essence;
  • four medium cups of flour.

Eggs break intodeep bowl and using a mixer or manually knock down into a thick foam, then add sugar, a spoonful of sour cream and vanilla or essence. Cottage cheese for the filling is thoroughly rubbed. Although you can take a ready-made mass with dried fruits, such pastries will taste even more tender. Next, baking powder and three teaspoons of soda quenched with vinegar are added.

Pre-beaten eggs with sugar are added to the curd. Sift the flour and add to our mixture. Then knead a soft (no lumps) dough. Please note that it should not turn out liquid or thick. It is better to add flour gradually and look at the consistency, if necessary, add more or less than indicated in the recipe, because the amount may depend on the variety. If you want to diversify cottage cheese donuts and give them new flavors, then you can put a small amount of cocoa powder or melted chocolate in the dough. Then mix thoroughly again. Next, the test should be given a little time to brew (approximately fifteen to twenty minutes). Cottage cheese donuts can be prepared in a standard, familiar form, like bagels, or in balls. The first option is more convenient to form using a special kitchen utensil, and for the second, small, approximately the same size "balls" are made from the finished dough.

If you prefer to deep-fry, then heat the butter in a deep cauldron. Do not place too many items in the fryer at one time so that theydidn't stick. Once the oil is hot, start frying the donuts. As soon as they reach an even golden color, they are taken out with special tongs and laid out on a paper towel to remove excess fat. If you do not like this kind of pastry, then cottage cheese donuts can be cooked in the oven. The dough is laid out in a special form and baked for approximately 15 - 20 minutes (until golden brown). Before serving, the "snacks" need to be cooled and sprinkled with powdered sugar. It is best served with tea or coffee along with fruit jam. Bon appetit!
